Be warned!!! If you ask Greenfly about his hammock setup you will soon be hanging from trees yourself. Happened to me

Winter set-up:
Eagles Nest Double
Jacks r better under and over quit
DIY Kelty down pea pod
Kelty oversize tarp
(tosty warm down to 10-15)

Summer Set-up:
Jacks R Better Bridge
Jacks r Better over and under quit (as needed)
Kelty SUV tarp (come with a free pole and is cat cut)

(sorry no pics)

I will have my JRB bridge at Laurel Fork, your welcome to try it out.

One tip buy Whoppie Slings no matter which hammock you go with

Only time I couldn't find a tree was on the beach in Key West, but the sand was almost as comfortable.

Just remembered I have a Hennessy I bought and don't use your welecome to test it out all you want, I did scavenge the trap.

Never mind.

Just looked at Sunday's weather west of there and it doesn't look promising.

Tag, is a game that is played in the forums. It consists of someone taking a photo of a location and putting it up as the tag. The next person has to take a picture of their bike in the same location to grab the tag. Then they get go take a picture of their bike somewhere else to place the next tag. There is a thread dedicated to tag in the Richmond area titled"Richmond Commuter tag". There is also a state wide game along with several regional ones and for the truly die-hard Tag-O-Rama addicts there is a nationwide game. The Richmond game used to be quite active going through several tags a day but has faded to just a couple a month now.

Also some of the games differ, by using a trinket of some sort to be found in order to claim the tag. Overall it can be a good excuse to get out and ride and get lost looking for that specific location.

from the VA tag thread.

the Retro rules of tag

"Rule #1. If you're new, watch how the game is played for awhile before jumpin' in cause I ain't explainin' everything to ya'

Rule #2 One tag at a time and county roads are acceptable (no dirt) but the tag must be findable. Include clues in your tag. Don't make the clues useless, not everyone is a Jeopardy contestant wanna be. Some Virginia folks like Freak, Gramps, PhilSpace, Sherpa and others know just about every nook and corner of this state and do serious miles so don't expect a tag be open for long. No whining and no file photos."

which means Brenda. 1. one tag at a time, 2 no file photos. 3. if the pic cannot explain the location, give hints 4. 1st person to post the tag pic is owner of the tag. 5. ya have three days to post up a new tag.

and the new tag is close to central VA peeps

You're in deep doo doo!

I was "addicted" to these games a few years ago. I saw more stuff (some scary) in the middle of the night grabbing tags because I knew no one else would be out there at that time. I must say I saw more of the area's historical stuff after dark that I knew existed, or saw during the daylight hours as a regular resident.

Early on, I had no "smart phone" or broadband, so it was rush out, take the pix, then rush home to post it... hoping that no one else had the same idea and got it posted before me. That is called being "Bruced."

Very entertaining, and like I said, can get addictive.

I don't know who else is interested in a ride Sunday....every good ride needs a food stop........I'll do street or gravel roads...one of my ideas was some BBQ....I'm sure some kinda crooked route could be formed around either place..

Any other ideas, destinations or routes

It's good memories thinking about motorcycle camping in younger years. My rig was, let's see...a sleeping bag and if I got fancy a trash bag for a ground cloth. Put two trash bags on a picnic table and I had shelter, sort of.

Up graded to a tent and a bag and I was in tall cotton. Heck back then I could sleep on rocks and did. Slept on the side walk outside of the White House when Jimmy was president.

Boon Booni, anytime you want a nap in the Blackbird and a beer, spring is coming, let me know. I actually think that the HH is slightly more comfortable to stretch out in, and they make a top load version now. I like the top loading of the BBird. The shelf is cool. I like to help a young man trying to make a living on his own terms too. Get a big tarp though, no matter what. It makes a difference though having a big dry foot print and packed up a 10x10 tarp won't be bigger than a Fosters Beer can.
