Aux lighting for XRL

Hello my fellow Thumpers.

I have an 08 XRL, I rode to the Hill Country of Texas a few weekends ago, went down at night. I quickly found out I need AUX lighting for my bike. What set up are you guys using? What is the best location for the lights? I have the CLARKE 4.0 gallon tank, dont know if that would hinder the mounting location.

Pics and suggestions are appreciated!

Chris

OH and I am looking to upgrade the headlight.

is there not enough light or you need a better spread of light? i would try a 55/100 watt h4 in the stock headlight and see how that works out. the stator puts out about 185watts so it should be good.

I use a hid light kit i got from ebay. It was like $30 for a set. I split it with a friend. I have been useing that set up for over 2 years without any problems. I would say about 10,000 miles of mostly dirt. Just make sure it a H4 hid kit.

ADVMonster Lights....

I have a Baja Designs HID Racelight

55/100 in a Baja Designs plastic OEM style shroud

A Cyclops Halogen in a Racelight frame

The ADVMonster 60 auxiliary lights with a dimmer trump them all, hands down! http://stores.intuitwebsites.com/hst...off/Detail.bok
Definitely the best bang for the buck

Order the bar mounts and they bolt on to the bars or turn signal stalks... I have a set going on my KTM, Cannondale, BMW GSA, Yamaha scooter and on my boat.

Sorry for crappy cellphone pics:

I have the Cyclops Racelight at ADVMonster now having the lens removed and a custom plastic plate that is housing 3 new model 60 lights (low beam is one light, High is all 3, on a dimmer) being built. I'll add pictures when it arrives
