Had to have a display case custom-made, and had to wait for the sabre to come back so they could measure and mount it. Hobby Lobby was all I could afford -- they take foooooooooorrreeeeeevvvvuuuuuuuur. Should be done today, actually. (Should have been done YESTERDAY, but they were a day behind schedule.)

But it's gonna look badass.

I'll brag on Smithy's allmighty skillz when the pics pop up!

Gonna do my best not to rant. The Cliff-Notes version is:

Ordered the shadow box a couple of weeks ago, and I brought the purdy item in on Tuesday so they could mount it inside. It wasn't done on Wednesday (which was the date they promised), so I checked again on Thursday. The same older associate said that the recent computer system re-boot had changed a lot of their ordering processes, and that they were over a day behind on everything.

When he retrieved his younger counterpart, the young man explained that, contrary to what the other associate thought, most of the pieces for my order had never been shipped, even though they had been ordered twice at that point. He was sincerely apologetic and wanted to help amend the situation the best he could. I'm a patient person, and that was fine by me. We mull over some other options and decide it would be best to have the purdy item in front of us for comparison.

He retrieves it from the safe in the back office, and a female manager is hot on his heels. They're arguing, and from what I overhear, she's pissed and doesn't care about my order. Apparently the young associate was supposed to have clocked out three hours prior, and that's exactly what he's going to do -- even if it means delaying my order once more.

I'm going to vent a bit now, so if your eyes don't like to read profanity, you should probably just skip to the bottom.

I should have told that rude, self-righteous bitch to take it up the ass. I'm the fucking customer, and I should get whatever I want. It would have taken that associate a whopping FIVE MINUTES to draft a new order sheet, thereby giving me a better deal on better materials, and then the problem would have been solved. Everything was fine until she showed up with a bad fucking attitude. He was staying late to save her store from losing business since the company decided to haphazardly screw with their ordering system. It was insulting how she aired her dirty laundry in front of a customer, snapping at him that they were going to have "a chat." And the way she spoke to him AND me in that condescending manner reminiscent of so many asinine managers of my youth makes me wanna slap that bitch silly!

So it's still not done. I, however, was not the one that hyped this whole thing up anyway.

Good eye, that and the square(hatchet) one are made that way, very tough steel and they hold an edge very well, treated to prevent rusting.

Of course it´s the opposite to the Veterans helping organization "swords to plowshares"

My cool brother got this for me for my birthday. Bike specific, with 2 hex keys (4 and 5mm) 15mm axle nut wrench, spoke wrench, and of course a bottle opener.

(Atwood's pic)

It's sweet.

My most beautiful knife, a Damascus steel blade I picked up in Switzerland, alongside the Benchmade Infidel.
