Ethan is indeed very cool. I have been to a couple hammer-in's where he ran a culinary cutting competition. Evil.

How do you like the blade?
The blade is good. Roughly 2 1/2" in length, but quite thick and a full tang, sharp, seems to be holding an edge quite well despite heavy duty use opening letters and packages!

It's CPM154 @ 60rc. It'll take anything anyone would throw at a knife that size. (I've been trying to resist.)

The Essential EDC is also very interesting.

Specs:

Overall Length: 6.2 Inches
Blade Length: 2.7 Inches
Blade Thickness: .141 Inch
Blade Steel: CPM M-4 @ 63-64rc
Weight: 4.7 Ounces

Honestly I don't know what I am going to do with it. For now it is going to be a safe queen. I know that's sad but I already have a Chris Reeve hollow handle user.

My ever-growing EDC collection:
Boker Plus - Anti-MC
CRKT - Delegate
Kershaw - Leek
SOG - Twitch II

These may have all been posted before, though I thought someone interested in this style of knife would appreciate a size comparison. I have had the SOG for years, but always wished it was a little larger. SOG makes a Twitch XL which I may check out in person, though the proportions just look a little strange to me.

I prefer the flipper which the Twitch and Leek have, though I might come around to the thumb knob eventually. The only non-assist blade is the Anti-MC, though it does get points for being different (ceramic).

Chord is something you play. Or a measurement of an airfoil.

Cord, short for Cordage, is something you wrap.

Sorry. That just bugs the hell outta me.

No, but a good buddy is going for his JS stamp there. Look him up, Stephen Fowler. Call him "Crowbar".

Will do Smitty, i hung out with Ethan for a while yesterday, we swapped a few lies, i got the Elsners coming in today but i am sure they wont stay at the show all day.
There is an awards banquet tonight, Charles Elsner jr. is accepting an award on his fathers behalf, we had 2 extra seats, so i invited the guys from Knife center.com to our table.

Blade Show

Here are a few highlights from the show in Atlanta.
sorry but the iphone cam is all i have for pics, my regular camera died a few days before the show.

I know there are quite a few 1911 fans here, i saw this at the show and thought you guys would find it cool.
Handles are like 1911 grips, on the folder the lock release is like the magazine release on a 1911.

[IMG][/IMG]

they make a straight blade too.

[IMG][/IMG]

Before the awards dinner, i had a cocktail with my good friends and good customer of mine, Knife center.com.
On your left, owner Howard, center, buyer Jason, on your right yours truly.
[IMG][/IMG]

At the awards.
R lee gave the opening remarks, gotta love R Lee.

[IMG][/IMG]

Mr. Elsener of Victorinox fame and the Blade hall of fame award given to his father, he flew over to accept on behalf of his father, Carl Elsener, Senior as we call him is 90 now and could not make the trip.
