I Fooled Around With my New Camera a Little Today...
Took some pictures of a couple of my knives, thought you guys might like to see 'em.
The first one is a small skinner from a kit blade, cocobolo Dymondwood scales and brass pins. This is a sister to my avatar knife. ![]() The second one is my first attempt at a scratch-built knife. I drew out the design, cut it out of O-1 steel, heat treated with an OA torch, quenched in used Harley Davidson motor oil preheated in a flea market elctric skillet and triple tempered in a flea market toaster oven. It has survived a point-first fall to concrete in the shape you see it here (narrowly missing my toe). Cocobolo Dymondwood scales, hardwood pins. The blade is too thick, so it's not much of a slicer, but I'm learnin'. ![]() The sheath is by Tree Stump Leather... ![]() The last one I found in some guy's miscellaneous pile at a gun show a couple years ago. It was so pretty I couldn't resist. ![]() I hope you enjoyed seeing these. Laconic screwed with this post 08-15-2009 at 03:43 PM |

Gotta love Costco
![]() This is my second leatherman. My PST lasted for 20 years before I broke down and bought this new one. It came as a set along with this knife: ![]() At first I was like eh! Whatever. But I find myself splipping this knife into my suit pants on a daily basis. Since I work for a school system, guess which end I use more. On my keyring, I carry this: ![]() Damned if I don't need this thing almost everyday. |

I actually looked at some old .303 rounds that I have & was going to use them, due to the large numbers of ex army british rifles around in NZ the .303 was the std hunting cartridge here in years past, but they needed a polish up & the .243 stuff was already shiny Cheers Clint

but where else can you see wizard swords being sold by rednex at 3am of a saturday morning? it's fuckin' hilarious! every time i see them feature a warlock fixed blade with a bejewelled, sparkly dragon eye pommel, i think, 'the jackhawk 9000' from talladega nights. sometimes i actually say it out loud, me p.s. yes, i'm that lonely. |

Got this in the mail yesterday.
Going from 3.5" to 4" is a bigger jump than I thought. Out of the box the quality is noticeably better than the Gerber I bought previously in the same price range. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() A finger lock for the thumb lock.
