If it seems like it is worthwhile after that I will worry about making the handle.
I bought one with the orange handle. I was able to put a shaving sharp edge on it with a fine Arkansas stone in no time at all. I like the knife. It's simple, easy to sharpen and feels good in my hand. I think it's a value knife that would be good for a glove box, tackle box, emergency kit, etc. It's very light weight and therefore would be good for a back up bush knife or just a spare to be loaned out as a user to a knife less person that wants to "help" make feather sticks and the like. The folding design is unique and belongs in any serious knife collection along with the Opinels, Moras and Marttinis. The little drop point blade is very handy for a multitude of camp chores and when given a good edge, cuts like a laser. Just ask the guys that favor the Izulas, Becker Neckers and knives with blades of this size.

They also would make for great gift knives for those on a tight budget that still want to give something unique and highly usable to a friend.

Here's a pic of my Svord along with a BK11:

I blame my current machette problem on this thread. Oh, and the tomahawk. I might get the $15 knife just for laughs.

ESEE-6 at the top (6.5" blade/11.75" total), Forge de Laguiole pocket knife (4" blade/5" folded) at the bottom.

The ESEE is a no-frills utility, which is very nicely made nonetheless, whereas the FdL has a few nice details. It's been my daily pocket knife since I bought it last Christmas, and it hasn't let me down yet.

So I need to put a new handle on a cleaver(is it still scales if they're on a cleaver?). I turned a nice piece of cherry for the scales and was thinking to just use pins and epoxy to attach everything. The existing holes in the tang are 7/32. Where can I get pins in this size?
Thanks

That does look very, very tempting. I wish there was a non-serrated option, too, but even so, I think I will order one soon.

Jantz supply, look here. You can use a smaller size if you like (3/16" or 1/8"), the epoxy will hold it in place. And if you prefer the look, it's fine to just use epoxy (no pins).

The two knives I am carrying today.....

I reworked the edge on the Izula II. Scary sharp now.
Other knife is an Opinel #7 in carbon steel.
