I had an Al Mar Tanto butterfly that got taken by the coppers --- out of a jacket pocket in a parked car, the bastids. I sure did like that knife.

I had my house robbed this past summer and along with the jewellery and electronics taken were a number of pieces from my knife collection. Luckily, the dimwits didn't know what they were looking at, making off with only combat and fighting knives and leaving behind the damascus and ivory, etc. Among the knives stolen were two vintage Benchmade balisongs: a 45 and a 35. So, I've been on a bit of a rampage recently replacing what was lost. Gotta admit I am drawn to the balisong - lost two, replace with seven (and two more on the way!):

I've never seen an Al Mar butterfly. Shame it was lost.

Delivered to my door this morning.

The Blackbird SK-5 built by the Ontario Knife Co.

Well built, well purposed and well designed.

No frills and all function.

And perhaps best of all....it's home grown.

And I like that.

Holy Guacamole!

I'm going to assume your brother is a bladesmith and/or an engraver of prodigious talent. Tell the layabout to make you another one, only get it right this time.

He's a bladesmith-I don't know if I would call him talented. What good is a knife no one wants to use?

After watching the video on that site, I think I'm sold!

Yes! I love mine. When gathering wood for a camp fire it's the next best thing to a chainsaw.

That's what did it for me. Here's another good endorsement.
