Happy Bali Day!

These two beauties arrived yesterday. Both are hand-made by "Balibalistic":

The silver one is his "Dedicated Flipper" and is a grail knife amongst enthusiasts.

I only had time for a couple of quick pics in my office last night. I'll take some better ones later

I was wondering, I sort of figured a horseshoe is not high carbon so would not hold an edge.

Me too. Ordered on the 11th and started checking the mailbox a few days later. Nothing. Just got the shipping confirmation email this morning.

Edit: Got the package yesterday, the day after I received the shipment notice. Two knives in boxes inside another box. No packing slip. No little bubble wrap to keep me occupied. Nothing but some fun little knives.

This is a Mike Spangler.

Esee izula that the girlfriend carries.

This was a gift from my mother when she was in Arizona I think. It has LCO on the blade I never really looked into it.

Also a bunch more but they are not convenient to access.

Anyone else get the "Ka-Bar Fin" from End of Retail a couple weeks back? Mine's definitely a fake, already opened a Paypal dispute.

Bubble wrap to protect the knife would have made sense. That said that is a very, very nice knife for the money.

After a little over a year of hard use, it was time to pretty up the Izula II again.

I love this little knife. I use it everyday as my work knife.

First night I got it cutting limes for my wife at a casino....

After it's fist honing.

No knife today, but I did just take delivery of a very compact tire hammer, which will let me start doing some serious work worthy of the thread, and hopefully start paying some bills.

I know that there is steel in most of the tires these days, but if you are hammering a tire into a knife you are doing it wrong...

It's a simple way to make a home-built power hammer. There's a rather large electric motor on the back, with a 3-inch metal wheel. When you press down the treadle bar in front, it raises the motor into contact with the rubber tire, like a very primitive clutch, and as the tire starts spinning, the eccentric linkage on it starts moving the hammer head up and down the guide post, effecting massive pounding force on whatever hot metal I have between the jaws of the thing. Hopefully I'll have some video of it later today.

Oh, a power hammer....nice! That aught to speed up the work and improve value - IRRC, one good aspect is the fewer heats per blade right?
