A poliwog followed me home...
Okay, so it's another Spyderco (I've lost track of how many I have, maybe 10?), this one a new Poliwog.
![]() I like the Ball-Bearing Lock, for it's similarity to another favorite lock, Benchmade's Axis lock. This thing definitely fits the "little-big knife" concept to a tee. The blade isn't all that long, but damn the thing feels sturdy, and I haven't needed a longer blade yet since I've been carrying it, which is admittedly only a few days. VG-10, which the Native is also made of, seems to hold the edge rather well, even under my abuse. Here's a shot of the Native for size comparo: ![]() The only downside I've found so far is it's wide in the pocket.. As in EEEEE-go-get-custom-Birkenstocks wide. A little pricey, but aren't most good blades getting so? I paid $150 out the door. A bit more than the internet as I found it for as little as $100 but shipping, waiting, etc? Feh. I got instant gratification, my knife guy and I go way back, and I like supporting the locals when I can.

I have an itch for a new blade, what would you get if you wanted a camp/utility/survival type-ish knife. no folders for say $100?

I bought these two just before Christmas last year. Around $130 each at the time. (I used the same pic back in post #477) ![]() They were made by John Landi.

That W-11 is cool. I really like the lines and the understated design.
I started looking around for a seller and found a place that sells the blade only, with no handle. W-11 Blade

![]() The RAT5 is also a good choice because you can get the survival sheath and pouches for it.
