VA dual sport ride 12/27 or 12/28

Can anyone make a dual sport ride this Sunday? I'm not in the know of where a lot of legal trails are so if you want to make a suggestion feel free! Otherwise I was thinking of meeting up at the Robert E. Lee wayside off RT 60 towards Amherst County. Anyone game? POST HERE!

Anyone ?!?! Anyone getting a new bike and want to get it dirty? Supposed to be warm! Come ride with a brutha. With all the Valley riders here I'm sure someone knows of some spots

post the pictures of the ride.

I wish I could go, but I have to work a 12 hour shift. You probley won't see too many more pretty days to ride.

I will be riding all day Sunday on the TW. Would be interested in meeting up but distance is not its forte'. If you were interested in riding around Augusta mountains, I'm game. Also if you wanted to explore some roads around Crabtree Falls I'd be down.

I might be up. I was planning a little trail riding anyway for Sunday. Can you give me a little more specific directions where you want to ride?

Thanks.

I know I ended up at the Montebello store once while starting at the Wayside on RT 60. I'll be trucking up the DRZ so I could meet anywhere within reason. Don't worry about the TW - I'm geared for dirt so high speed is not in the DRZ's vocabulary. Keep the posts coming and hopefully we can pinpoint a time and spot. I'm open to anything.

Is Saturday an acceptable option?

I can usually get away for Saturday rides easier than Sundays. I know the trails from Rt.60 to Montebello and back fairly well.

I could do Saturday. Would that work better for everyone?

Hi,
I'm riding from Charleston up to Lynchburg which is in your neck of the woods. I should be around for a few days and would like to explore the area. I am not real experienced, especially in the dirt and will be on a big bike (1150 GSA new to me) but if that doesn't cramp your style perhaps we could join up?

I'm fine with anyone coming. I've ridden a KTM AdventureR through a bunch of stuff around there so you will probably be fine on the big bike. Maybe more of the local guys could clue us into that. We could aways take big bike friendly trails, dirt.

big bikes

There are lots of gravel forest roads from Rt. 60 to Montebello that are doable by most reasonably skilled big bike riders. Some of the stuff that's more "interesting" to dual sport bikes (including the Shoe Creek Jeep Trail) wouldn't be something I'd recommend for big bikes-some steep/rocky climbs with several creek crossings. Another big bike alternative is to run the Blue Ridge Parkway.

We could always do a big bike friendly to Motebello. Have lunch then do a more difficult ride back to 60. Big bikes could take BRP back to 60 in Amherst near Forks of Buffalo?!?

Saturday or Sunday

Chris,

I might be able to make either day. I have plans on Saturday, but may be able to reschedule. I'm available Sunday after playin'

I'm probably leaning more toward the "big bike alternate route."

Haven't had the $$ for any protection for the pig yet, and I'm sure I'll drop her a few times in the dirt... especially since I put a street tire on the rear.

I've got your number and will keep up with the thread too.

That's 4,000 miles away from me, so I won't make it this time.
