The road crew consisting of Ride929(Gary), SuperwHak(Steve) John(on a Ducati Monster 1100) and MadStrom left Powhatan at 7:20 a.m. We slabbed the 97 miles to Long Mountain Wayside straight out Rte 60 in the chilly gray light. The skies started looking more promising as we approached the mountains. Half way between Amherst and Long Mountain Wayside we cauhgt up with rmb on his GS1150.

After we met up with the dirt crew we rode on over to Buena Vista for coffee and breakfast biscuits at Hardees. After Breakfast rmb decided to ride a loop back to Lynchburg where he was visitng family.





We then took a spirited ride out to Goshen Pass did a U-Turn . The skies cleared and we rode back Rte 39 to Rte 252, 606 11, 56 over to Montebello and met up with the dirt crewe about 11:45. Guess which ones rode in the dirt.



From there we rode out 56 to 151, and down 692 through Batesville, North Garden, Keene, 626 down to Howardsville. We then wound our way across Rte 20 & 15 down Amphill Rd through Cartersville and back to 522 & 711. A couple of bikes were running on fumes by the time we got to the BP Station. Total miles for the day was 308.

Funny thing is Maganos was up there on the same day August 8, 2008. We were riding in 2 separate groups.
I was wondering if there were going to be any dirtiest bike contest photos.

I think I called you Scott all day! Sorry bout that! Anywho, I'll get the rest of the pix up tomorrow including video of you doing a water crossing and of the falls and everyone will get to meet Ridgerider!

Well....after we left the Jeeps I was pretty busy trying not to crash so I dont have many pix but I did manage to get this very shaky shot of Chris (aka Scott) cleaning his wheels.

What no mud and water flying 50 feet in all directions?I thought all ADVers had to empty the puddle or stream when they crossed. That looks like the way I cross water.

When we came out of the woods we happened upon this guy parked on the side of the road working his GPS. Some words were spoken and the next thing I knew, we were chasing him back into the woods. When we stopped, Chris (aka Scott) asked him if he was on ADV rider and it turns out he is the one and only RidgeRider! Great guy- just another surprise in this epic day. Anyway he had just taken us to the waterfall we were looking for!

Acutally the rocks were slick in the first crossing so I slowed down for the rest. That and the fact I wasn't dressed for being wet lol!
