Some of the technology has trickled down to mortals--I'm using his ignition system, which is responsible for a large part of my plane's efficiency.

The German. Nice little World War II pilot based short film. You'll probably learn a little something at the end.

3 things to watch. Watch lightning hit vertical stabilizer. Then watch charge leave the plane to the left of the nose gear entering a metal manhole cover in the pavement. The last time to view it look towards the tug that is rolling in on the left where the manhole cover that was blown out of the plate in the ground.

There's an odd discolouration of the concrete around the nosegear, too.

Ruptured hydraulic line?

I saw a lengthy story on this, some time ago.
Really interesting.
I'll see if I can find it tomorrow.

Funny, the song in the one on one bar scene was the music from Shawshank, in the very start of the movie.

Can't tell if there's a reflection in the camera housing, or if there was also a leader captured on the film.

There was a flash followed by some smoke near the nosegear. Maybe the insulation burning off a grounding cable?

White smoke: unburned fuel vaporizing...

Black smoke: insulation burning...

Brown smoke: check contents of the lineman's drawers...

Firemen must identify the hazards...
