Friend of mine is a PIC for United heavies. 757/767/777. He says United has a 777 that got bent a few years back. After it was repaired and re-entered the fleet, it constantly burned 2-3% more fuel and needed a heavy trim setting. Boeing sent techs out to it several times but never could isolate the cause.

Looks like a De Havilland Otter. I've seen several on floats, never on wheels. A very popular bush plane. Many have been converted to turbine power or the Polish made larger radial engine.

It is rare to see one with a 1340 on the front anymore.. all the ones around here have the pt-6 or tpe331 conversions.

Oh well...it's not the first time...

and it's hard to find a modern photo of an Otter without a turboprop conversion, which I suppose is the only way I've ever seen one myself. Dehavilland makes some incredibly hearty aircraft.

THose older pics- are they from the Canadian Car and Foundry? My Grandma worked there in WWII building Hurricanes and Spitfires, seems like those pics are from there.
