really cool video about flight characteristics of a p47 thunderbolt. The pilot/narrator does a really good job of talking "sense" talk and not just babbling jargon.

Long ago I can remember reading a pilots statement that when you look at a standard city block there is no where you can hide form a .50 caliber round. The P47 has 8 of them. I always liked the underdog. The P-47 and the A-10……ugly but very productive!

Love the P-47. Great video. When I have trouble sleeping, I imagine myself flying a Thunderbolt (always with the bubble canopy) on strafing runs.

+1... until I saw the fuel capacity and got suspicious. I wonder if he got a deal when buying those 4 Hirth engines for it.

Jimmy Franklin's amazing Mystery Ship, Jet powered/assisted WACO aerial demonstration. One of the world's most unique aerobatic demonstrations ever! With help from world renowned jet truck driver and engineer, Les Shockley, Franklin highly modified his Waco bi-plane by strapping a jet engine to the bottom of the fuselage to provide added thrust to this 30's-40's era bi-plane like you have never seen nor heard. Listen for the roar of the prop and the scream of the jet engine. Amazing! Franklin perished in a recent aerobatic accident when he collided with popular aerobatic performer Bobby Younkin
I remember seeing this live and it was awesome

RIP, Jimmy.

Well crap... Another Boeing 787 Dreamliner fire.

Is it battery related?

The batteries are somewhere in the belly comparments, so I would think this was not battery-related.

Galley fire, maybe? Or maybe the overhead crew berth, I think that is somewhere in that area...if it is equipped with one, anyway.

787 - this isn't so good, considering the problems so far this last 12 months for the 787

I wonder how much effort Boeing can properly afford to fix the 787 or will it (fixing the 787) bleed it that much that it becomes a loss?

I wonder what the new airbus will be like when that enters service, similar concepts etc and what difficulties they will encounter.

When the 777 was launched I wasn't in aviation, had no interest, and so I dont know what significant problems were with that.

What about the A380, I dont recall hearing that haveing any major or significant problems. I dont think that the QF A380 blew an engine coming out of SIN counts because that was an un-contained CATASTROPHIC engine failure, sure it affected the aircraft but it wasn't an aircraft problem, it was an engine problem.
