Now I have to go run those things down and find out where they are. Those could be cool check points or bonus locations for a rally. Or just fun to see when in the area.

There's a lot of mixed feelings across the board about that.
I wondered how well it worked, and with what fuel he was using, whether 100LL, or 80/87 MOGAS.

I'm curious. I'm going to start getting my private pilot license at a local airfield. Anyone work for the Forest Service as a pilot? What does it take to get a job flying with them, and is it worth it?

That photo gives a good impression of how large an F4 is compared to the other three generations of fighters....

I once saw an F-4 parked next to a C-47. They were the same length!

An empty F4 weighs two tons less than a fully loaded DC-3/C-47. A loaded F4 weighs 18 tons more than a fully loaded DC-3. A friend of mine who claimed to have no interest in aviation when graduating college in 1965 was sure he'd soon be drafted and decided to look into the Air Force, figuring that would be the last place to get in harm's way. One thing led to another and by 1970 he was flying F4's over Vietnam out of Thailand.
