Gate A5, T3, Changi Airport, SQ A380 engine change, on the ramp!
was suprised to see this, but it has been 12 years since I was invovled with Boeing narrow bodies and so things have changed a lot.
I guess, they install the new engine, BITE test and then a normal ramp rated power run and that it these days. ?

one of the guys from the local airport sent me this video of a crop duster supposedly in the Mississippi Delta area - at first I wasn't sure if it was real or not (I can't believe OSHA and the EPA haven't got involved). Then I noticed the name of the guy that made the film and I thought, "huh, I've got a patient by that name..." Then I clicked on the link for the "producer" and wouldn't you know, that's him LOL! Anyway, kinda interesting, and I'm sure this is how they do it in 3rd world countries. So, when you think your job sucks, just think about the spotters out there with their umbrellas! I don't need no stinkin' GPS grid...

and another one of carrier qualifications, I live vicariously thru my GF's step brother who flew F14D's and now flies for Jet Blue. IF I had been borne with better eyes, or 20 years later, this is what I'd be doing.

Thanks for posting that.

The CO of VT-21 at the start of the video was a student of mine. He's retired now and just got hired at United. I hadn't seen that before.

Indeed, I think I posted this before, but maybe some of you all missed it. Ag tractor showing us he was ticked that we were "near" his runway. We were loading up a plane to ship onto a tractor trailer and he didnt like someone on his runway (there are hangers and such 30ft from the sides of the runway, but we were the truck that broke that camels back) so he would take off as close to us as possible, If you look close you can see the port side wingtip is pretty close to us.

It may have been here. I remember asking what kind of restrictions existed for flying near spectators. Never thought a "pilot" would be killed.

Cockpit Scenes - 737 Start Up

Please note that this is a fictional flight filmed in different locations and at different times. No route nor instrument setting is real, it has been made for video purposes only.
The procedures used are standard Boeing SOP's rather than any airline's SOP's.

Finished up the annual and IFR cert on my 182 Saturday, and then went for a ride in my IA's Super Cruiser. Playing around in the back seat at 1500 on a hot summer afternoon doing steep turns and Dutch rolls, didn't take long for me to get queasy. My IA's a big guy so I could see the airspeed, but not the T&B or altimeter. I was having fun but it felt good to get back on the ground.

He built it with his partner and they don't fly it so it's for sale. If I could find 3 other guys to go in on it I'd be tempted to do it. It was my first time in a conventional gear plane, I'd love to get my tailwheel endorsement someday and have something like this to play around in.
