I enjoyed that, even if your camera has a wandering eye. Thanks.

the tiger cat is amazing!!! I have never seen one up close.

well well well.....today was another day of race drama, strega figured out how to race in the lines. Will be in gold match tomorrow

rare bear got herself together today and ran great!

September fury aka 232 blew an engine and the backfire through the intake blew up her intake runner, causing it to come off the aircraft and damage the canopy and tail. Pretty sure she is out of it.

PM finished 4th. Think there is more in her for tomorrow.

Good times!

I WANNA GO FAST!

I just heard that czech mate had some sort of crash/incident in Shafter. Smoot is ok, but plane has damage. Dont know how much at this time. Will post up as I find details. Heard it described as a minor issue to a hard ground loop to major gear damage. They got 4th in front of us at the races this weekend.

Glad the other crew is OK - and congrats on the finish. Not too shabby considering which engine you were using.

That aircraft certainly has a unique sound.
Next time, I hope you have the race motor to run.

A couple of years ago saw two Tigercats running in the Gold Unlimited race. The sound was something to behold.

thanks, we are pretty happy with it....there was so much more going on. But we got her together. Pretty amazing considering!

She does sound like nothing else. We like to say that other mustangs zing through the sky, Precious Metal growls and claws her way!

In a few weeks I will be visiting the Oregon Coast on our yearly pilgrimage. This year I think I'll visit one or both of the Tillamook and Evergreen air museums. Any requested photographs from either?

Tillamook exhibits list.

Evergreen exhibits list.

A question for the pilots here, especially from Europe: anyone ever using the metric system? If yes, what-when-where?

I fly in East Europe and it's quite strange, I fly on Cessna and it's all in US/UK measures (miles for speed and distance, feet for altitude) except the temperature that is always in Celsius. But I am flying more in a Ikarus (much cheaper and it can land everywhere in a 500 ft field) and everything is in the metric system except the altitude that is again in feet. The communication with the ATC is in anything for speed and distance and almost always in feet for altitude. This crazy mix is confusing sometimes because the time estimates (that are not very precise on light aircrafts, wind is playing a much bigger role at lower speed) depends on the unit of measure; the maps are in metric system (Jeppensen)

I can't speak for European pilots, but we (in the states) use nautical miles for distance, feet for altitude, Celsius for temperature, inches of mercury for pressure....uh...and other stuff I'm sure.

Oh yea, Knots for airspeed
