Same with single-engine prop planes--the prop keeps the pilot cool because he starts sweating when it stops.

Lost Vikings
Those weren't lost vikings in DSC 4608 on day 25. They were Dragon Boats. An ancient Chinese sport gaining popularity in the US. A very good workout BTW.

If that doesn't capture the purity of flying, then I don't know what does.

Here's a nice video of some test flights in a recently-completed Nemesis NXT. The test pilot is Kevin Eldredge, the same pilot who lost the prop at Reno this year.
Check out the proximity of the local fowl on the first low pass............. ![]()

Holy crap! Whats the stall speed of the Nemesis plane? It was touching down on the runway faster than I cruise at.

I've been drooling over the NXT for a while. If I won the lottery, THAT is what I would spend it on...well that and a pilot's liscense...and a few planes to work up the NXT's level of performance.
Edit: Specs: http://www.nemesisnxt.com/kit/p3-2.php Stall is 90 mph according to this, but the plane in the video may not be exactly the same due to the larger engine and other possible differences. Jo-Nathan screwed with this post 10-27-2010 at 06:01 PM |

Don't know if it's posted already but if you want to watch something that will break your heart, search Youtube for Kee Bird.
Watch the parts in order.

That plane is quick on the stick! Very little movement and you are banking!

Landing speed is going to be a significantly higher than stall speed.
Note that the NXT had split flaps--without them you'd be sure to slam the tail first when you flare for landing. Quote:
