Looks like it was primarily built as a firefighting aircraft. More information on the Altair is available on Wikipedia.

Saw an F-22 demo at the airshow on Saturday.

It does do things that fighter planes aren't supposed to.

+1 Incredible stuff.

I saw it on Saturday at the air show and then again Sunday from my house.

I remember taking flight lessons at Arlington when they were testing the Osprey. They would do flight test but you hardly saw them other when taking off or landing. I was doing a checkout when one took off. It seemed like less than 30 secs I looked up again and it was nowhere to be seen.

Cargo scare?

I did knock the static wick off a Lakota a couple of weeks ago.

But I made up for it by getting to make new floorboards for an EC-155.

The cargo scare where everyone thought that some UPS flights had some either dummy or real explosives hidden in toner cartridges. They were checking a plane in Philly and Newark that may have had packages that originated in Yemen. None showed up here though.

Huh, weird.

Didn't hear a thing, though I haven't bothered to check any sort of news source what so ever (besides JM of course) in a couple of months.

Looking out the window at that would suck.

This picture shows why the pylon mounted engine is such a great design. Most of the blast and debris missed the wing structure.

Some interesting pics featured in the article. One was taken on-board by a passenger and clearly details a couple of holes that were made when flying engine debris went straight through the wing.

Good thing it missed the fuel cells.

This time...
