Labor Day weekend weather near Clarksville, AR

Thinking about heading that way in a few hours. On the bike, will be riding in that area over the weekend. My question is about online forecasts for that area. weather.com is say chances of rain are 80% friday, 60% sat. and 40% sunday. weatherbug app is 50, 50, 30. Both of them say thunderstorms. Are these reasons to stay home? I have another opportunity to head that way the middle of Sept. I only have vacation for one or the other trip.

Just don't want to spend the weekend taking cover from thunderstorms. Out west you can see them coming and head a different direction. I just don't know Arkansas weather patterns.

Any advice?

I dicided a long time ago I'd rather go and get a little wet than sit home and find out later it was not that bad.

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick...ite=all&smap=1

National Weather Service does not look that bad for Fri-Mon 50%, 40%, no mention of rain, 20%. Temps not that bad for the end of August either.

Hope it works out for you, have fun.

Yep..we got rain this weekend..I for one am allot closer to clarkesville than you and with rain comin, I can not justify a wet trip there when I can enjoy it more without the rain. Now, if you wait until the mid of SEP, chances are you will enjoy it more. As long as you do it before SEP 24 because that is when Bikes, Blues and BBQ happen up in Fayetteville and all of NWA will be run over by bikers (3rd biggest MC rally in the USA!..last year we had 500,000 bikes here) so heads up!

Thanks for the comments. We decided to put it off until mid Sept. Got to make the most of limited vacation.
