"Gruber is same terrain as kinta just less water crossings, and compressed into smaller area."
So this could be a practice (or warning) to a Kinta ride?

Let's finalize this on Tuesday.
I have a extended cab Chevy and a 3 rail bike trailer, so if anyone needs a ride I can haul a couple of guys and your bikes.

See you Tuesday night.

Let's finalize this on Tuesday.
I have a F150 4WD Extended Cab with a hitch. Happy to take it as well.

I guess we can decide Tuesday as well as discuss the forecast. Right now the extended forcast has changed from possible snow to sunny for the 1st.

I'm sure it will change daily.

Snow Thread

Anybody got snow ?

We got at least a foot here in Jones, Two foot drifts behind the house....

It was fun watching the dog run around in it... She loves the snow...

I'll take some pics on the way back to the house.
My camera was in the shop so I had to make a trek outside to get it..

Gonna get the F650 out tomorrow and make some trails....

I would do it tonight but it'd take the ambulance a long time to get here.

You guys get them snow pics posted...

John

It's a standard cab, so 3 people max... Let's discuss it on Tuesday.
I'm 99% in, even if I don't get my tire or brake pads... Who needs brakes anyway? They just slow me down

Here you go John. With the drifting it's hard to tell just how much. I just got back from Stillwater picking my wife up from work. It was about all my Subie (with chains) wanted. Here's a pic from my boys earlier today. They reported it was cold but the traction was pretty good. Merry Christmas all.

The road in the pictures is covered now. Had 2 cars get stuck in my "play " area already. Three if you count the wifes car stuck in the driveway.

I heard you guys got about 11 inches (snow I mean). It is still piling up here too and the wind is brutal.

We had a 5 man extraction event. Chryser 300 driven by my brother in law. Only one way to get home. Freakin tired now. Pushing and shoveling for 1.5 hrs.

drive home from work sucked with the street tires on the jeep and a plugged heater core... had to drag a half dozen vehicles out of the way leaving work to get out...

got it home, cleared a spot in the garage (this was tough - 6 bikes in a 2 car garage with all the tools a man could want, and a generator in the way lol), shoveled part of a 4' high and 15' wide snow drift in front of the garage, gave up, shoveled out a small drift in the front yard, moved the G/F's BMW 5 series over into the yard to make a path for the jeep to pull into the garage, rolled in the other set of wheels with the super swampers mounted up, and proceeded to swap them out...

3 hours later, a set of tires, and a flushed heater core and good heat, and i was in business.

re-packed the chains and tow rope, filled up the tank and 5gal can at the nearest 7-eleven, threw the old 3 series battery in the back seat (its parked at my brothers and the battery was on charge in the garage) with the jumper cables, loaded up on gloves, dressed up in thermals and snomobile pants, and hit the road....

pulled a few people out, delivered some goodies to the G/F working her second job as security at walmart for the night (they're closed) and headed back...

drove into a snow drift as high as my hood... threw it into reverse and backed my ass out of there no problem.

Super Swampers, FTW. Just wait till i get some lockers :)

Came back home early. We only had 1 (one!!!) customer at the club, so they didn't need much security

It took me forever to get home. Stuck cars everywhere, blocking intersections and even major streets. I really don't get it. If you have a 2wd car and can't handle snow driving why would you go out and drive in the middle of the night? Oh well...

Here are some pics from this morning:

White Christmas! Yeah!

OGE got a little stuck... even with chains

3' drift out the back window

Went to dig teh super swampers out lastnight and found my materials rack had been weighed down so much it fell over on the A/C unit... tossed it all over on the ground to get the weight off.

So, i wanted to pull the Jeep in the garage to swap tires and flush the heater core, but there was a 3' drift in the left lane and the BMW in the other... so, it was easier to move the BMW than move the drift...

BMW is just gonna hang out in the front yard for a bit... and yes, the traction control is badass... just getting up the driveway it was working its ass off, but made it up and over just fine.

The evil tires that made it really hard to get home. fine on dry pavement, but worthless in the snow / mud / etc.

Super Swampers... FTW. (Thanks to TO for the sweet wheels so i could get these mounted up a few weeks back.)

even though they're well worn, the side lugs and even the "tread" down the sidewall was kicking ass.

My F150 is too long to fit in the garage empty, all the way up against the laundry room door... The jeep fit on the short side, with the tool box in front and room to walk around!

I used the fish tank suction cleaner line to back flush the radiator and hooked it up to the hot water line in the laundry room. All the hoses outside were frozen. lol.

6 bikes. It was a tight fit, but it worked.

Man, thank you Jesus for old four-wheel-drive Toyota pickups! Just got back from chopping ice on the ponds for the cows, and there's nothing to this snow stuff in 4-low.

The BMWs will stay in the garage/shop until it is safe to come back out!
