That tire looks gnarly!! How much air did you try to seat the bead with? I've had to run up to 65 psi before to get one seated. Plus some windex in there to help it slide on. get that bead seated and let the shape come back to it. Probably needs balanced for on road duty. Made a world of difference on my MX tires.

I'll have to think about wearin that lid. It's a family heirloom. You should see this other one I've got. It was my grandads. It's got cork in it with leather ear covers. Here he is with the helmet.

i tried up to 60psi.. and it made me a bit nervous, so.. didn't try any more.

i did use plenty of soapy water, but didn't try airing without valve thingy, and although i had heater goin in garage, it was still cold in there. and i was using a small compressor that would not even air it up to 20psi without cycling.

i will give it another go, if i can't get it... i will bring it to tech day. guess that will gimme something to do besides laughing at platter when he drops shit into motor while doin valve adjustment..
