There was no mini van there last night, and the monkey was well lit... kinda stood out.

I guess I suck at this whole placing of tags thing.

X, your tags are fine, except maybe that one last year that got everybody stirred up, you know the one, the vector thing tag. You just have a different mindset than a simpleton like me.

I had more fun chasing that monkey tag than any of the others I have hunted. If I would have had the coordinates it would not have been near as much fun. The best part was all the LEO in the area and all the folks wondering why the dork on the motorcycle is cruising the back alleys at 5 mph! They probably thought it was you again! I always feel that mine are the lame ones.

To me, going somewhere just to take a picture isn't fun. I'd rather have to do a little research, explore a little bit... makes it all the more worthwhile when I do find it.

Ive always been told for as long as I can remember by nearly everyone that knows me that I think differently than everyone else...

Still haven't figured out if that's a good or bad thing.

Looks like I will be doing the "2010 SNAP Wings-of-Thunder Poker Run" tomorrow... any other inmates going to be there?

For those who don't know (I didn't) a poker run is a game where you put $20 in a pot, everyone goes to 5 different locations and gets a card. Whoever has the best hand out of the 5 cards wins the game.

you werent the only one. I spent at least an hour cruising the streets and back alleys of Decatur earlier that morning.

Oh, and by the way, much as we sometimes complain, there really are no lame tags. They all get you out on the bike and that is the main point. Is it not?

Ok, as promised (before noon) here is your next tag destination. I know of one fellow here that could go straight to this one w/o a clue, but for the others, see clues below pic.

May not look like it, but any streetbike can do this, but it is on dirt.

First you need to be in Morgan Co.
Second, you need to put on your
Rd.
then go to
Dr.
Then look for the river.

Well, that didn't work too well. I'll edit the post to where pics show instead of links.

Ok, pics are good now.

That picture clue works well when you know what the pictures are.

I had no problem understanding it :)

The Wings-of-Thunder was pretty fun... I got really burned. I had the best hand for the longest time, two aces and two eights. I was all excited until a guy brought in a straight... Almost had $500

They had some contests... Having your passenger pickup and replace tennis balls on cones, having your passenger throw a water balloon over a pole and attempt to catch it, hula hoop throw for the kids, and then a game where each competitor had to go as slow as possible between two lines, whoever crosses the finish line last wins. I easily won the first slowest race competition, being that everyone else as on heavy Harley's. The second slowest race competition came down between me and a guy on a stretched fat tire Yamehaww Arr-Sics... I was winning, he had already crossed the finish line... but I thought id rub it in a little until I stalled the engine and DQ'd myself.

Ahh, Aces and Eights, the dead man's hand.

Yup. I had the 3rd best hand. I was hoping to see some other inmates there but I figure everyone is at TDT or didn't want to associate with the Hardley crowd. I was the only dual sport. There was one sport bike there, a lowered stretched 600cc non-r6 Yamaha.

Followed my dad around all day... I ran over a squirrel in Bankhead on 33... I tried my best to avoid him but ended up hitting him with both tires. My dad is almost 70 and we hardly do anything together so it was nice to ride with him. He did slip and fall over. I watched it in slow motion. He put his foot down in the parking lot, handlebars turned full lock and he just slowly went over on his right side. (he had a stroke in 2000 and his right leg is weak) ... the bike ended up both tires off the ground on its foot pegs and tank. In an effort to pick it back up before any of his younger friends noticed I hopped off my KLR and yanked that 600lb motorcycle (Honda Shadow 1100) back to its tires. I was impressed with myself. If it were my KLR I would have had to pull and tug and cuss and spit to get it righted. (I'm 5'9 and weigh 145lbs).

Anywho... back to your regularly scheduled programming.

Any Streetbike?

I'm thinkin that the Goldwing crowd might have some issues, especially when it is a little damp!

TAG!

It appears to be the barge dock at Independence Tubing. Nice view!

Next Attraction

For the next item on our little tour we have this humble culvert on Mooresville Road in Limestone County.

This spot holds a special place in my shriveled little heart because one morning on my way home from work I had to help get a deceased person in his car out from under there. Seems he went out for a pack of smokes the night before and never made it home. In the middle of the extrication the family arrived and things got really interesting!

Anyway, here's a GPS shot to help with the location.

Enjoy the ride!
