Looks like the 660 is the way to go if you're not interested in XM. I'd like to have the XM option, so I'm pretty disappointed Garmin doesn't support XM with the 660.

Does anyone know if either the 660 or the 550 support Tracks? I have the 60Csx and am thinking of "upgrading" but I won't do it if I can't have my tracks. In the feature list on the garmin site it doesn't say. |

Not sure anyone knows yet what the 660 will do with tracks???
550 does tracks.......................but some are not happy the way it does it. Too much to put down here but the Zumo will record tracks with the best of them (220K worth) but only displays about two days worth....the last two days. Converts old tracks and 3rd party tracks to routes and can display one of those at a time on the Zumo. Much has been written about this on this site..........search!!!!!!! |

I am on the fence about ordering a new 660. My 550 is missing a button and no longer waterproof. Garmin will do nothing to help me out as its out of warranty. If I send it in to get fixed its a flat fee of $225.00 I am thinking just sell the 550 for whatever I can get for it and buy a 660. It doesnt help that I like new gadgets either. Hopefully it will be released soon so some reviews can get out.

"20 (additional storage on microSD™ card) " So it sounds like they upped the ones you can store internally. I'm guessing you can store as many as you want on the SD card assuming you don't run out of space. I was a bit unhappy with the lack of buttons, but if other peoples buttons on their 550/450 started to leak, it may be best to not have buttons. Of course, the buttons on my Quest never leaked, so maybe they should go back to that technology.

I'd wait for a few months to see what Garmin does with the zumo665 and zumo220...I don't expect either to be better at Track Navigation than the zumo660 (which isn't that great) but you never know...
Actually I think Garmin will eventually make a GPS to supplant the GPSMAP276/376/478 but I don't think it will happen this year. My money's on the TwoNav Aventura...if you want a turn Adventure Touring/Dual Sport GPS - with more flexibility than any of Garmin's old chartplotters.
