that's way too much pump. you're going to heat the fuel when it circulates excessively. unless you lower the voltage supplied. I've had experience with aeromotive external pumps. they DON'T like being run dry so take that into consideration when mounting.

what's the output of the stock pump?

I think it would be much better to use a walbro intank pump. they are OEM quality and will last a long time.

I think it was A1000. Cartech pressure regulators but there not reliable enough I think for this application.

I prefer in line Bosch or Walbro. I've had 100% success with these.

Please me updated on your findings. I am using an FI engine (Kawi 650) in my project bike that will be equipped with the 4 tanks from a carbed 660 Rally and I am not sure which way to go yet. I'll probably need a surge tank, inline fuel pump and a return style pressure regulator (45psi) as well.

Do you happen to have any particular recommendations? All the ones I have seen at Jegs and Summit have very high draw since they flow lots of fuel - way more than I need anyway.

I used an A1000 for about 10k miles. I had its predecessor (same design)for about 40k miles. I upgraded because it was not adequate for the HP I was making (550rwhp).

you must run the filter AFTER the pump.

ya, a lot of pumps do not like the restriction on the intake side, makes the pump run hotter too. the 5 micron serviceable one looks like the ticket.

OK, here's an external pump that might help the 990 guys out. It's a Keihin product found on a Honda quad. Puts out 70 liters per hour at 2.4 amps. Includes a pickup filter and is very easy to service. Cost from Cheapcycleparts was $115. The only problems I currently see is the internal pressure regulator is set to 42psi, but I think it will be pretty simple to bump it up to 51. And the other problem is where to install it?

If anyone has a dead 990 fuel pump that they no longer need (or care to look at), can you send me a PM. I'm looking for parts off the orginal unit for an experiment I've got going on my SE.

Also, I might have a lead on a cheap fuel filter that would be a factory fit, and I'd like to check it out and see if everything will fit correctly...

Could this pumps' motor fit in the OEM pump system?

I have a Denso pump out of a CBR600F4i that I have been chasing around trying to find spec's to no avail. Denso doesn't list it as a replacement so no pump graphs/details. Price might be better that the KTM part, however this latest unit that PowerCell is showing looks promising.

PowerCell, what are the dimensions of the "cell" that contains the pump and bits?

there is a low lph Walbro out there too, might be interesting to pursue, however does not have the integrated pressure regulator.

It's about 6" tall, by 4" wide...

The smallest Walbro you want to run is the GSL393 at 160 LPH. The GLS395 (130 LPH) is only good for about 30psi...
