I'm going to Toronto this weekend. Was going to leave the office early and drive on Friday, but I decided to buy a train ticket. With gas at $1.15/L it will cost about the same. Now I won't be concerned with traffic or bad weather.

Thump:

I was in an antique store in Arnprior with the bride yesterday, and saw the perfect hook for hanging up your dog's leash - thought of you, (ok, I thought of your dog) and bought it - it was dirt cheap.

If you are going to be at the bike show Saturday, I'll bring it with me, and we can meet up. Let me know, and I'll pm you my phone number.

Toronto show

Well, don't get your hopes high, didn't get my camera, prose shall do. This was my first accessories show in Toronto, so I didn't really know what to expect.

If it wasn't clear by now, adventure riding/enduro/whatnot, it's not on anyone's map. There are sportbikes and there are cruisers, the market for them was well representated.

There were probably 3 types of off-road boots, about 10 pairs total Very few off-road bikes, couple KLRs, a Strom here and there.

The vintage display was the best for me, nice bikes, some I didn't see before, like a bike in a box, literally. One was able to pull it on the rear wheel, pretty cool for a 1960s or something model.

Very few new bikes, very few dealers actually. GP bikes had a big display, with good prices, and with not so knowledgeable staff. But some were good looking, so I guess it was all good.

Prices wise there weren't any crazy deals, but there were some good deals on helmets. I'd suggest to have cash, many places were taking 5% off if paid in cash, or no taxes.

cheers ...

I take it that the Tiger 800XC wasn't there?

Seems like if you're not a pirate or a squid you don't exist!

Nope, there were Triumph bikes from some dealer, but not the Tiger 800 or the XC.

I was aproached by someone while meandering around:

Her: Do you ride?
Me: Yes
Her: A sport bike?
Me: (flattered that I am not with the pirates) Not really
Her: Than you're a cruiser guy
Me: (deflated) nooo
Her: but you said you ride
Me: hmmm...

It was a representative from Cycle Canada, they had 22 issues for $20, either sportbike or cruiser, off-road comes next month.

2 Bike / Utility Trailer For Sale or Trade.

We no longer need such a heavy duty trailer so we posted ours for sale in the Canada Flea Market forum, if anyone's interested.

Well it's cold and I'm bored, anyone have any bike dvd's they want to swap?
I've got salt and gold, craziest ride, romaniacs, hmm..a few other extreme endure flicks and a couple of other ones. Maybe just a month swap or something along those lines.

Oh ya Dakar dvd's going back to the first one.....probably like 20 or 30 dvd's
