Well, we went out toward Packenham and we explored, and we had a hell of time. Eventually the trail devolved into a mud pit and we had to head back but still had a great time doing it.

Thanks for the help in your replies.
Alas, you know what they say about the early bird and the worm? I was buyer # 3 in line. Back to shopping. Keep your eyes open for a 640 or possibly a DRZ 400 (KLR is at the bottom of the list). Budget is 3-4 grand.

Help with my 530 exc
Hi guys,
I need your help. I'm really so sad right now because my bike is not running right. Damn it, I had a hard time sleeping last night. The bike is a 2011 530 exc, with a JD jet kit installed by the dealer and all emission stuff removed. So here is the scoop. Got the bike ready for the spring, the only change since last year, I put a 13T sprocket instead of the 14th I used to have last year (14x50), just to check it out. Now, before I went out yesterday, I started the bike at night and it was running lean. When opening the throttle, it would hesitate and even die. I opened the pilot until it was running right, kind of, still some hesitation. In the middle of the ride, I stopped and opened the pilot screw more since it was really jerky. That seamed to have made it better. Anyhow, once I got home I noticed the header turned bluish near the engine for about 8 inches length. So what is going on? Is the carb sucking air or jets clogged? Where do I start? I'm new to carbs. Just to let you know, before the winter, put stabill in the gas, ran it through, then drained the carb. The bike was stored in the basement. Thanks in advance, Ovi. |

True, but that was a ways in and its been raining damn near everyday for what? 2 and a half 3 weeks? Some of the stuff we rode through to get to that point was obviously bigger earlier in the day. I think if the trail dried out for a day or two it will be very doable with the Metzlers on.

Bad bike. Go lie down!
Some of the wet, muddy, bermed sections in Limerick are treacherous. AMHIK

Hey Ovi,
How did you store the bike this past winter? Carb bowl drained? If not, then perhaps your pilot jet is clogged. If it was running properly last fall, and this spring you needed to mess around with the pilot jet to make it run better, then obviously something has happened to the pilot circuit, ie, the fuel broke down and gummed up the insides. That's where I'd start. Derek Quote:
