Lads - hope I'm not breaking a rule or offending anyone by posting this here.

My band, Joe Bones, is gigging this Friday in Nepean and I though the Ottawa ADV contingent might be interested. We're southern rock, boogie blues and a bit of country. Bring an ADV-related item and we'll waive the cover! The ADV salute will count...;-) Hopefully the nice lady working the door won't get offended!!!

Deets here: www.joebones.ca

on a riding related note:

Got out for a good three hour solo wandering ride today. Hit the airport pits, an abandoned go kart track in the woods, some very interesting single track, about 30km of abandoned rail line and an old gravel pit. There was a true dual sport moment when I transitioned from rail trail to 400 series highway and back to rail trail over the course of 60 seconds!!! Got some video/pics that I'll upload when I edit out all the road portions of the ride.

Lost Side Case

Hi All,

A buddy of mine was on the way up to Ottawa on Tuesday and lost a side case somewhere along the 416. The bike is a GSA so the aluminum cases, right side with red/white reflective tape and now likely some nice scratches all over it. Of course as it he didn't know when it came off he isn't sure where but guesses somewhere around exit 28 so in the Kemptville region.

I'm posting in the unlikely event someone comes across it ... we are going to take another look on the weekend.

Just after exit 28 to just before exit 42 is under construction. Perhaps someone on the construction crew came across it.

I haven't seen it, but I haven't been looking either. Though it would be something id notice if i saw it on the side of the road.

Its ok.. i always bring a saw for wood signs and bolt cutters for the locks.

Have you looked at your dam HYDRO bill latley. I think half of it is for line maintaince. I pay it... and i make sure the hydro bums dont have to charge time when they go with there trucks and get stopped by the gates... leading to increase of my monthly bills..

makes perfect sense to me. and i do all my "line" maintanence on my bike.

We're not all bums

Hey Pete, I bought a front end (triple, forks, etc) that fit on a xrl (was going to buy an L but ended up with an R model. The forks are from a cfr (upside down forks)....might be a nice upgrade to your bike

It definitely wasn't on the 416 between the old rail line and The bridge over the Rideau as of yesterday...

Oh... No worries then I thought you were talking about us hard working OPG employee's supplying the good people of Ontario with clean affordable energy. Unlike those lazy, financially irresponsible derelicts that work for Hydro One. Remember Hydro One-Customer Zero...I'm sure those Ottawa Hydro Guys are pretty crooked too.

Any of you FFers up by Brennan's Hill at 1100 today? Couple of big DS bikes, black KTM maybe....not sure about the other one. Looks like you were having fun! I was hauling lumber up to the cottage in prep for some minor renos. By the time I thought about it, it was too late for the ADV salute!

Anyone looking for a tent?

Eureka Back Country 1 Person Tent - New and Unused - $150

We bought two of these through a US site since it's not available in Canada. We opened one up and realized it will be ok for my wife who's smaller than I am, but it just won't be big enough for me so one of these tents is now for sale. I am 6'5" and this tent doesn't give me enough room for gear, though it is long enough to lie down in.

The dimensions are: 8'x3' and it weighs 3lbs, 14oz. It packs up extremely small, and would be great for a hiker or a bicyclist, or a smaller person.

See photos and more in the Flea Market.
