looks like the riding isn't going to happen. Me and a buddy were going to trailer our bikes to Calabogie but we've now decided to abandon that plan.

Kinda sucks too, because hunting season starts tomorrow. Today would be the last day that you could ride trails without much risk of being shot, or even just without pissing off the hunters.

Same here. We've been out on Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Years Day, and many days where it just felt right, at least until we went numb from the cold.

Last winter I was able to ride at least once every month...even if just for 20-30 min when the sun was shining and the roads were dry!

Good weather or bad weather, from december 15th to March15, in Québec, we're not allow to ride or drive a vehicule without winter tire ("mountain and snow" logo)... so, no bike
(we can ask for a derogation for a trip to other country )

TKC80s have a Mud and Snow designation, I seem to recall. Pretty sure I saw the same symbol on the side of my TKCs as was on the snows on the car.

Edit- just checked my TKC and it has M+S but no mountain/snowflakes so I figure it won't qualify.

right, but looks like the M+S is not good enough.
It's specified on the gov's website... m+s is shit... but we accept LT or A/T until 2014

Maybe we should try to have a bike meetup one day each month over the Winter? Just a quick ride to a central location...
