XL185S 1981 Yey Harrr
Went to the Queanbeyan swap meet (NSW Australia) on the weekend & picked up a 1981 XL185S well most of it.
It has a CT125 donk. no instuments, throttle (or cable), coil, levers or instruments. & the seat is from an XL100 and is different. before:- https://picasaweb.google.com/1047280...00722538641362 bout 2 Hrs later:- https://picasaweb.google.com/1047280...00722422620978 Small crack in the frame where the stand fixes to the frame should have that tiged up by the weekend. Are NOS or reppro plasics around for these old rockets? I've been googling but not found the actual plasics?? Cheers Paul. Marconi212003 screwed with this post 12-04-2012 at 05:05 PM |

fenders show up all the time on ebay, good ones less often. Side covers rarely show up on ebay and when they do they go for crazy money regardless of condition.

Hey team, I need a tacho for my XL250 ( '73) and I've been thinking about one from ebay that's cheap and small but they come in two ratios 7:1 and 4:1 and they say that "Most CB Hondas below 550cc use a 7:1"
Obviously this isn't a CB but it's under 550cc. Does anyone know what ratio I should use? I've tried a trail Tech electronic tacho but it's like a random number generator. I have since heard from a few people that for some reason ( maybe to do with the magneto) that these bikes generate a lot of noise that confuses electronic tachos.

![]() finally got most of the NOS & other stuff I can think of to start the tear down, but have been unemployed for too many months and I fear opening up this beauty if I can't afford to get any other parts I might need (can of worms) Quote:
