So here we go. Something about buying a dual-sport has made me want to seek out urban refuges, and this one captivated me. Clues:

--It's inside the perimeter
--It was built in 1906
--At one time was an indoor pistol range
--It was dynamited in the 60s

Though there are trails & I rode em I'm not clear if it's cool to ride in there. There's an approach from a different direction that I think is used by people on foot or bike, so I'll allow any latitude you want in getting this one (pics from the entrance, say.) Anyway this should be a fun escape to a part of Atlanta you haven't seen.

From David Kaufman's book Peachtree Creek here's a photo that shows (at the right edge) the tower that's visible behind my bike in the 1st pic.

That's enough clues for now, methinks.

The old Decatur Water Works

I didn't get to ride any of the trails as there was a rail road crew working there and I didn't want to get hassled. I will be back there though, cool tag.

I'll try and get my new tag up as soon as the rain lets up a bit.

Oh now it's on! Speed-tagging with ground-pounding nitro-burning thunder!

Dude that was fast - I need to provide less clues (or pick tags that aren't so obviously close to my home)

I didn't have to work today, so I took a while to figure out the clues. If it wasn't for the book clue, there is no way I would have got it. It still took a while to figure out.

But I also wanted to get this thread going again, as I think it is a ton of fun. That was the best tag yet fo' sho'.

Nice job, Fried Duck! I am glad you are a manly man and secure in your manhood. It's funny cause I was thinking if it had been one of the Women's bars you guys would've been all over it!

I can't believe the trails you find in the Decatur area. Looks like there might be more legal singletrack trails here than in Suches!

Looking forward to seeing the next tag, Shark31. Where exactly in Piedmont Park do you live?

SR

I live in Ansley Park. My wife and I are from Fayetteville originally, but we moved here so that we could be closer to school.

Good work shark31. When I first saw the tag I was thinking this could be for me. The 4fiddy is looking sweet.

Thanks! The weather went to crap for the rest of the day, but I have a great new tag in mind. Transplants may have a tough time with it though.

Make it tough! My hope was that we learn a bit of history and find some of those unique corners in the metro area...
