has it really come to this... I feel defeated sitting at my desk here, reading people (not just you Chitown) talking about turning their back on the bike I hope, desire, need to take me around the world away from the monotonous cube life. Hopefully I can learn from you and put an inkling of the photographic and psychological skill into my ride report 3 weeks from now when I complete a grueling unknown route...

Luckily I will have all the tools needed to tear apart the bike and put it back together, and if that fails I will have my survival gear so I can Bear Grylls it out of there lol

sounds like a troubled relationship

do you work on it (counseling at Ginas?), or part as friends?

When the 800GS came out, I looked and said this seems to have the soul of my old Africa Twin. I sat on it at the show and it whispered all the right things (in a funny accent) so I made plans of adding to the garage once the first couple of model years got the bugs sorted (I never buy the 1st model year any brand). Now it seems that it does not have the soul of my old Africa Twin. In fact its too special to be a work horse. The AT didn't think it was special.... but it was.

ugh. I'm so tired of posts that say, I considered it but now no. Again, my bike was built later. May 2009. It has NONE of the recalls or problems discussed. Mine has the soul of a pure beast. It rides, roads, dirtys, and all the while says I'm you bad ass ride! I'd be perfectly confotable planning and taking my F8GS on an extended journey here in the US or south of the border, or elsewhere.

I love my ride. It treats me well.

Ride on ChiTown. Ride on F8GS...

As for the rest of the happy gs owners... Good for you, but you're not me and this is my thread.
Please save the my bike is great for somewhere else.
I'm fucking over it, and once again will be altering my trip hightailing it to LA where I will be getting rid of this GS.
If it gets me there.... If it doesn't BMW finacial can come get it.

thanks, I don't feel like punishing all of you either... I feel my story has taken a downward spiral cause of GottaSuck... I like an adventure but jeeze!
