We eliminated the possibility of a 5 or 10 K run and flipped over to thinking it was a marathon, but why the elongated spacing over many miles?
We got all the way to Mt. Hood's high plateau and runners were still coming. That's over thirty miles.
We now have a motel at Hood River and we googled the run.
It's a relay from high on the Mount Hood Plateau all the way to Seaside, OR, a total of 12,000 runners over 197 miles.
I never saw so many runners over such a great distance.

More on the North American TAG soon.
Don't dally Danny, I'll be in Rogue River Monday!!!

Scroll down for a brief blurb on the above page.

Seems the HTC Relay was the victim of some Pervs. harassing the female runners /walkers. The RCMC has for the last 15 years has patrolled the route from Portland to Seaside during the hours of darkness resulting in zero incidents in the last 12 or 13 years I think. myself and four other dual sport riders covered a gravel section of the course that is about 12 miles long and some of the most congested and dangerous night conditions you can imagine. The RCMC also boasts that zero motorcycle have been hit or hit anyone else in the entire time they have been doing this. This was my 4th year.

My Precious! You've come back to me. We are once again together for another journey.

The campsite had occupants so I asked permission to look for something I left there by the lake. Got friendly and when I wanted the pic with Mr. Egg and the background scene it made sense to have a couple of them in the picture.

Here is the road I went up on my Wee Strom with street tires. Was fun but thought it prudent to get a room and drop all excess baggage and the pillion SO off before the off road part. That is quite a drop off on the right and this is a "good" part of the road. I think in hind sight it was a good decision and Georgette agreed.

Got this rare shot of Mount Hood on the return leg. It's usually hiding in a hood of clouds. That's a pear orchard on the right.

And here is Mr. Egg's entourage:

Hey Patrick, that is a slick P-46 you stamped into Mr. Egg.

Now, to soak in the powers of the LD Egg fertility orb. Lord knows, I need all the fertility I can get.

Jeez, Dig. I expected to see this report days ago. Your SO missed out on a cool location, but gravel two-up on a new-to-you bike is kinda scary. I'm sure she enjoyed walking around Hood River just fine. I figured campers wouldn't mind; I wanted to make sure someone had easy enoough reference points once they go to the lake.
Nice place to live, huh? I live about 4-1/2 miles closer to Mt. Hood from where you took that Mt. Picture. I figured after my 450 mile RT ride, I'd make it easier for some of our local Portlanders to get to it and show off home at the same time. But they got lazy, and you stepped up. I hope it was a nice addition to your long journey.

So.........? Where's the next drop my Dual-Sport friend?

BTW - I took the "Surgical Steel from Japan" pocketknife from the bag. It was getting kinda full and my tank bag needed that kinda tool.

Well, I would guess you put it on an engraving machine due to the perfectly formed letters. I'll try to get a pic of it up here as possible.
Great job and it takes up only a tiny space.
Fortunately I will not be needing to sign off this time since I'm signed on already.
There is room for a few more short names so Mr. Egg can gain power through more peekupzndropoffz.

As you say....GAME ON!

The SO saw the begining of Green Point Road and said "No Way, Jose"
It was mutually agreed that we get a room first. She cheered me on and sent me off on my own. I said "If I'm not back by 7PM send out the dogs."
It was indeed a nice location and you should be proud to live there. We have been many places on this trip with the Wee Strom and always stay longer than planned or want to. No exception here. Nice folks at the campsite too.

Mr. Egg and I have some catching up to do and are in discussions as to where the drop will be. One thing is sure....It won't be closer than two states away when he gets new digs.

Maybe Panama!

Sorry about your Portland freinds unless they want a real big adventure getting to it.

We are thinking it may be nice to get him into the Rockies. Can't recall exactly but I don't think he had much time there.

Stand by!

Oh, and I think it's necessary to remove items from that bag since it was getting really big at one point. Georgette wanted the elephant and the "TONY" cufflinks for a Tony friend of ours. I have the ADV stickers on the WEE now.

It's "take an item...leave an item" far as I'm concerned.

Egg travels

Mr. Egg and I are on our own now here in Moscow, Idaho at the ST Riders rally called WeSToc.

Georgette, my SO, needed get home for Pug sitting duties so I dropped her of at the Spokane airport where we shared a poignant parting.
Mr. Egg and I will head into Montana tomorrow for a wedding and to visit friends. While there we will be scouting for a good egg drop location.

This shot shows the great sig Patrick46 installed on Mr. Egg
It also shows a view of looking down on Clarkston, Idaho where Lewis and Clark passed through on their way to the Big Water (Pacific). This road is called the Old Spiral Highway and is a great road for reinstalling the roundness to squared tires.
