We eliminated the possibility of a 5 or 10 K run and flipped over to thinking it was a marathon, but why the elongated spacing over many miles?
We got all the way to Mt. Hood's high plateau and runners were still coming. That's over thirty miles.
We now have a motel at Hood River and we googled the run.
It's a relay from high on the Mount Hood Plateau all the way to Seaside, OR, a total of 12,000 runners over 197 miles.
I never saw so many runners over such a great distance.

More on the North American TAG soon.

Pfffftttttttttttttttt, google the 1984 Olympic Torch run. That there was a lot of runners over many miles. Proud to have been part.

Mr. Egg update

Mr. Egg gets fondled by a bride on her wedding day in a Missoula forest.

Three to the right of the bride is SunnyTN who rescued Mr. Egg from an open ended sentence in Belize.

Currently Mr. Egg and I are in Dillon, MT with a friend who I have not seen in ten years. Here is Bill and his lovely bride, Kerry in front of their home on wheels. It's is there perminent address and they are alway on the move so I am glad I was able to connect and catch up.

...due to low temps in the highlands outside the east gate to Yellowstone, my plan to lay the egg up top of Bear Tooth Pass is undergoing alterations.
It may well have been spring before the next pick up.
Mr. Egg is rolling southbound.....

Mr. Egg loves it here in Utah and would like to stay for a short visit.
He would like to know he'd get a visit though.
Are there any interested ADVers in eastern Utah?
Otherwise he is eastbound.

Good choice! I alway like riding there.

On my way southbound to Moab from Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, I met Merrell, an ADV FF who also rides a Wee Strom. He plans a trip to Panama in Februry.

sites along the way

Here 's a few pics of the ride Mr. Egg and I decided on to get us out of the cold Montana weather and down into some warm Utah sun.
This is Bear lake Utah.

More back roads southbound:

Almost to Moab and just before the sun goes down.

Next day after camping just outside of town Egg wants to investigate possible layover locations in Canyonlands, Utah.

He says:::::Looks like there will be some great choices in here. Only question is, will I be popular here? ..or just serene for a really long time?::::::

:::::I could really get with a place like this.

:::::Second thought, I may be under three feet of snow before some FF comes and resues me:::::

A bit of duel sport off road.

How about a scene like this until an FF comes in spring to get you, Mr. Egg?

:::::Nah! too windy:::::
Ok then, how about here out of the wind?

:::::Better, but now I can't see the view:::::
Sheesh! you are hard to please, Egg. How about here, a room with a view?

::::you're getting warmer:::::
HEY! if you don't stop being difficult, I'll leave you here. You just might get blown a few inches and you'll be history, Egg.

:::::I don't know...I wanna be in the lime light. I wanna be a star. I don't think it's going to happen out here even though it is a fantastic place:::::
Ok, Let's get some suggestions from Ranger Paula.

Looks like we'll have to postpone this decision until tomorrow. Lets sleep on it, Ok Mr. Egg?
:::::OK, but I'm thinking the big time is east of here. Lets ride:::::

Thanks for the encouragement guys but this Precious Egg is high maintenance.
I think he's hinting to go to the Big Apple with me. Maybe get planted in Times Square...:)

We are holed up in Loveland, CO saying hey to a friend.
Here is one of the great roads in from the northwest. RT 14 through Poudre Canyon.

More pics from the entire trip here:

Gotta go help a buddy with a coolant leak on his GL1800.

I'm sure the NYC FFs will all pounce on it eagerly.

Just make sure the cops here don't mistake you for a terrorist and the egg for some clever new kind of bomb. The paranoia here knows absolutely no limitations and there are eyes everywhere now.

Talking

As I recall there are still a few states here in the North east, that the egg has not spent any time in. There are more than a few taggers here that would love to show him around!

This may be true, although I can't recall which ones are unegged as yet. Seem the North East has had more than it's share of this yokster. There was a map keeper a few months back that showed all the Egged locations and the NE was flush.

I would love to leave MY PRECIOUS in the last bit of the rockies before I ride east and homeward. Only concern is the harsh winters here and the possibility Egg will sit to long before an interested FF comes along.

I am in Loveland til probably tomorrow. I have a lot of voices talkin' at me. Might as well hear yours too.
