This is the second belt I've snapped on this bike. The first went at 11.2k, this one at 22.4k. I foolishly believed the dealer that it was a freak incident the first time, but now I know better. Replacing this one at 5k and keeping it as a spare isn't a bad idea at all.

The Grab....

I checked on the thread the other day as I am on vacation this week and thought, "it sure would be great to grab Eggy or Nutzy this week!" Well, low and behold, the Egg is less than six hours away! After the Brucing JALnSC and I got on Nutzy earlier this year, I was eager to hit the road ASAP and hopefully grab him up before someone else. I headed out around six this morning, not sure whether I would make a flying trip or camp out for the night and head back tomorrow. I packed for an overnight with my hammock if they had room at the campground. Fast Forward through five hours of Super Slab® and.......Tada!

It was a pretty nice dirt road coming in with some gravel but due to the storms they had last night, it was a little muddy in places. No problems though, I was an offroader before I was an onroader.

Coming in to Cataloochee, I was lucky enough to see quite a bit of wildlife. A young Black Bear crossed the road just in front of me. I must have spooked him, he shot out but was looking back from the treeline from whence he came and I was figuring Momma Bear was gonna be coming out of that treeline also. So I kept a keen eye out and cranked the throttle open to get out of there before she got there. Not long after that, I came across four deer grazing in one of the large fields. They looked up, saw me, seemed indifferent, and went back to grazing. Then, now this is a real treat, I saw this>

I mistakenly thought it was a Horse at first! It is a Juvenal Bull Elk. As big as it is, I would love to see a mature Bull, and hear him bugle on a cold crisp mountain morning. Moving along, I couldn't quite remember all of the directions and there wasn't any cell service so dialing up and checking wasn't gonna happen. I rode around a bit but finally got it figured out. The view from the bridge turned out pretty nice:

And then the grab:

RFlagg42, Great job picking the drop site! I had an awesome time! Thanks Man!

More to come.

So after the grab yesterday, we were headed southeast on HWY 276 and Eggy was pretty hungry. I passed by Smackers Sports Grill in Waynesville, NC

and figured it looked like a pretty nice place to get a good burger.

It was!

The inside of this place was incredible. There were dollar bills pasted all over the place, all with their own modifications. Eggy wanted to leave his mark so he whips out a buck and goes to work.

If I'da known he was flush, he could'a bought his own lunch!

Bills placed, we hit the road bound for Blenheim! We stopped off in Florence, SC to have dinner with V-Marv, his wife Janet, and our adv prospect/his father-in-law Bob.

I was so hungry, I only got the one pic.

All in all, I did the 600mile round trip in 15hrs, with about 1.5hrs in the rain. Hey, no pain, no egg, right?

The Drop

Right! Well, Eggy and I had tons of fun but now, it's time to continue on. I had a great spot picked out for the drop but it was in NC. The NA TOR Map shows alot of open real estate in SC so I re-figured the drop zone.

You are looking for an Artesian Mineral Spring that was originally discovered in 1781. In the 1800's a local doctor added Jamaican Ginger to this water to help his patients with stomach problems. In 1903 he opened a bottling company to produce this wonderful beverage. The facility just out of the picture was built in 1920 and used until the company was purchased by the Schafer family in 1993. Schafer built a new bottling plant so that production could be increased and the old facility was then made into a working Museum. It gave the company the unique title of having the oldest and newest bottling plants in the US. Unfortunately, as you will see, it burned down several years ago.

Here is your TAG photo and you will find Eggy with his new favorite beverage!

It was pretty hot out and while I wasn't looking, he cracked his open.

He asked me, to ask whoever retrieves him, to bring him another Ginger Ale, he loved the burn! You can grab one on your way in, at this store:

I added a few goodies to the baggie and said my goodbye's to the little guy.

So here is a pic from behind the spring. I did not move the bike from the first pic, so use that as a reference also.

Look for the rotten log, it is just inside the weed line, just after the piece of brick between the pavement and weeds.

You can see the log standing at the brick.

Eggy is on the left-hand rear side of the log.

He should be safe here. Not much thru traffic but locals do draw water from the spring. Thanks and God Bless, Wesley

Damn, I miss Blenheim's. (just don't inhale!) You just can't get anything like it in New England. I drank a lot of when I lived in NC but I've never been to the factory. Wish I had time to make a run for this tag. Nice tag for sure.
