Did 1160 miles to get the egg and to get to my sister's. Also saw the Barber Museum in Birmingham and highly recommend it!

Good on you.
Well you sure couldn't go more than a hundred yards south, now could you?![]() The idea is to keep the little guy in play, so for direction think about helping him not get snowed in again.

![]() I get a giggle out of watching all you (us!) middle-aged guys and gals chasing a stone egg around the country. Keep up the good work! (What is Eggie made out of anyway?)

Whew! Now let me try to catch up on this !
First off, eggy is safe and sound under the watchful eye of Lucy: ![]() Tomorrow, he will have an new home. I promised someplace 'warm', and baring any more unforeseen circumstances, that is just where he will be! For reasons I'll not get into, my return home from Cajun country was cut short to a one-day slab ride. Originally, I had intended to leave eggy somewhere in La., or possibly along the return route, but I didn't get a chance to do that. So now I have a place scoped out within a couple of hours of home that should be every bit as good..! More to come..

The rest of the story:
Last Wednesday, after packing for my trip to the Swamp Scooters BMW rally, I decided to check on my favorite ADVRider threads. When I realized the location of the NATOR, I just couldn't let the opportunity pass by. It would add maybe 2 hours to my trip and offer an opportunity to ride a section of the Alabama Gulf coast I'd never been to before. I left Atl. Thursday AM, taking back roads through west Ga., and into SE Alabama, then headed south to spend the night in Pensacola. Starting just after daybreak on Friday, I made it to the tag in good time and relatively little traffic. A nice coastal route for this time of year, but I certainly wouldn't want to try it during the summer tourist season! Here is another shot of the tag location:
![]() An interesting place that I had no idea even existed! Thanks for the tag and the opportunity! Leaving the tag location, I picked up I-10 and headed to the rally in Lafayette La. (or, Carancro to be specific), to meetup with some riding buddies who were already there. ![]() This was to be my second Swamp Scooters rally but hopefully not my last.Everyone is very friendly, and the food is just fabulous! ![]() ![]() Eggy seemed to enjoy it as well.. Especially the vintage bikes! ![]() ![]() He even bought a T-shirt, but since it won't fit in his travel bag, I'll hang on to it for safe keeping.. ![]() The Mardi-gras beads however, will travel with him! One thing eggy noticed, and no offense to anyone, but it appears that either only old people are riding BMW's, or only old BMW riders attend rally's. We think it perhaps a bit of both... (more later..)
