For those of you interested, Just started up an Oregon Tag-O-Rama because there wasn't one in the past.

Click the link in my signature below, it will take you to that thread!
FYI the USA tag is not too far from you if you're still riding and tagging and not frozen in. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...php?p=16680476

Been there since August.

I don't think the egg stalled this long when it was up North during the winter. I thought Texans rode in the winter...

I freekin' love the Oregon coast.

I have a friend in Astoria who keeps telling me how good the weather out there has been this year in the hopes that I might move back. Really mild this year I hear...heated gloves and some good rain gear ought to do it.

For the almost decade I lived either on the north coast in Seaside/Astoria/Cannon Beach area (surfed almost every day for three years straight) or in the valley in Eugene. I road year round. Coming out from New Hampshire it was the first time in my life I'd lived in temperate weather that didn't freeze your gonads off from from November till March (though in NH I'd take the quads out in the winter).

It was kind of touch and go crossing the coast range in the winter due to freeze in the higher altitudes and I wouldn't touch the cascades but I was also on a 1982 Yamaha Maxim 400 cruiser that was fully street outfitted. No heated grips, no knobs, no wind protection, no grip protection at all. And a seriously heavy bike for what it was. But stable and fun to ride. I'd take that thing out onto Forest Service land in the mountains and just let loose.

For a while there I actually rented a hunting house that didn't have electric or running water and was sandwiched in the wilds, surrounded on all sides by forest out by Gods Valley. A friend of mine has a mining claim out there and also one off the Mckenzie River. The dirt road that led to my house even had creek crossings. That bike was awesome. It handled everything I threw at it. Road it to the arctic circle in Alaska. Took it down Baja. Took it across the Black Rock desert region of Nevada. It was a trooper. It died of heat stroke down by Cabo San Lucas.

Had a key to the FS gates when I was living off Hwy 53 in the hunting shack in God Valley and was able to ride the FS roads any time I wanted...on my little Maxim...had to ride the FS roads. Couldn't get to my house any other way. What I wouldn't give to be able to do those roads now on my F8.

Best time of my life out on the Oregon Coast.

I'm actively looking for a job in Oregon/Washington/Idaho...can't wait to get back out there myself. I've got a lead in a Native American owned firm in the mountains outside of Spokane that I'm actively considering. But Spokane does get a little cold. Used to date a teacher on the Couer D''Alene reservation. Remember the weather up there well...bit chilly in the winter. Brr.

Anyway ... so we've established that Eggy is at Washington on the Brazos ... the Birthplace of Texas. In fact he is hiding under Independence Hall - the place where Texas declared it's Independence from Mexico in 1836. You're gonna wanna park the bike at the Visitor Center and walk a hundred yards or so to Independence Hall.

The independence Hall ...

From the front ...

And, the spot: found at the back of the hall, to the right of a wheelchair lift ... he's resting just inside this opening ...

Ok ... there he rests. Night grabs could be a problem ...

K, so ... Eggy asked me to share this pic. Seems he really enjoyed this Mango Margarita, but there's no accounting for taste (it wasn't mine ... I swear) ...

He also got to escort a Bride to her wedding (biker wedding; arrived in Sidecar), but since the Bride hasn't seen the pics, I can't share them yet.

It's been fun, and I sorta dropped Eggy in the backyard of a Serial Tagger so here's hoping his journey continues.
This one is only about 1900 miles from me, but really close to my folks place. Too bad I can't take the time to make the trip right now. The warmer weather wouldn't be a bad thing to have at the end of long journey.

Oh, and bump for the current tag location info.

I got tired of seeing it sit so instead of riding the Hill Country I'm riding east to grab it. Don't know how long or where but it is on the move.
