Actually the missus and I had already planned a ride to Blowing Rock for the Forth. Imagine my surprise when Drago kept showing up on route. And my frustration when I got Bruced twice.

LOL. Great how things work out like that sometimes. Tons of tags around Blowing Rock/Boone lately.

This was my fist Tag and I must say THIS IS FUN!!! Although a bike run starting at 03:30 to retrieve this thing probably had my wife thinking I was on some late 4th of July booty call. Thank heavens I found this Tag or I would have a lot of "splaining" to do.
I meant to ask you if you had a cold ride. I was in Linville NC at 10 pm and the temp was already down to 54 F I was pretty cold.

We saw 50s a week ago Friday on the southern portion of the BRP. Beats the hell out of the upper 90s I'm going to be dealing with all this week!

Some photos from the road

What a piglet the little guy is. You'ed think we were on a Gold Wing the way he whined to pull in to the DQ.

We stopped into a local watering hole just short of the house. It appears Drago is no beer snob

But a flirt. That he is

Third time a charm

Great grab Yankee Dog!
How do you like your Tiger on the long hauls? Mine is a 2012 too, and it has been so much fun on the long rides. Any glitches with the bike?
Looking forward to the drop.

I picked up a evaporative cooling vest last year and what a difference it has made. You need airflow and my mesh jacket lets the air in. I love it.

North American Tag-O-Rama!

The Tiger does fine on the long rides. The missus and I took it 5400 miles to the Grand Canyon last year. Loved every minute.

The under tank fax machine thing (sorry I forget the name just now) gave me a problem coming back through Kansas. I squirted it with wd40 fixed it on the spot and I cleaned it the next service. That was about 10,000 miles ago. No problem since.

Did the same thing with 3 in 1 oil, and no problems now (stay away from dusty roads though). I did a 3000 mile trip up to Nova Scotia last year and not one hiccup except for a flat tire on Prince Edward Island, which I cured with Fix-a-flat.

Jeez, I rode right by Candler just three nights ago. Didn't even think to check on tags.

Ah, well, plenty 'nother stuff to keep me busy. Leaving from Chicago to Spearfish, SD tomorrow morning.

fix a flat... How did it work. I am having nightmares thinking about getting a flat on the rear tire.

In my case it was great, as I had a small puncture. Put another 2200 miles on the tire before I switched to a less street and more dual sport tire (Heidenau K60 Scouts). Never did repair the puncture. It really was a life saver, and I never leave home without a can of it now.
