Garmin Customer Service
I bought myself a 60 Csx for Xmas with a Ram mount and 12V power cable. The first time I used it , I had screwed up the mount installation ( must have been in the bend of the handlebar) and the mount came loose. As it would have been difficult to retrieve the tools to toghten the mount, I simply disconnected the unit and stored in the tail bag and tie wrapped the mount so it wouldn't interfere with the fairing.
When I went to use the unit in my car the other day on a trip I found that the end of the power plug had vibrated loose and the components were somewhere between here and Blanchard Mtn. I called Garmin this morning and their customer service rep Andrew has apologized for my inconvenience and shipped me a new cable at no charge. Wonder of wonders, customer service at it's best! Thank you, Garmin!

Just wondering, how long were you on hold before you actually talked to someone who could help? I called about a software problem the other day and got a recording saying it was going to be a 35 minute wait. Tried their online email thing and it crashed four times in a row.

I had a good experience with them this morning. See thread titled "stupid zumo".
I had to wait about 15 minutes but I called right at 8am CST. |

It's been a couple or three years since I've dealt with the UK Garmin customer support but they were amazing both times. Fast to pick up the phone and the person you get to speak to really knows their stuff.
The second time they refurbed my knackered six year old eTrex (the rubbers had perished) at no cost.

I ordered a copy of the 2009 Maps for Europe a while ago for my BMW Nav3 and I was sent the wrong software. I spoke to a rep at Garmin who was a bit confused but worked on the problem during the day and called me back towards the end of the day to say that he was working on it and had to talk to someone in the US. The next day he called me again and told me that there was a download waiting for me, he gave me an address and after the download everything was good with the world.
Great service again by Garmin

Customer Service Garmin
I've had excellent service from Garmin on a 276c that malfunctioned. The company has replaced the unit at least 3x out of warranty. What more can you ask? I also had a problem configuring my computer so the tech support guy took "control" of my machine and literally did it for me and then gave me a "hands on" tutorial.

I have never ever had anything but great service from Garmin since buying my first GPS years ago. On-line, on the phone, or in person at the corp building.

i've experienced outstanding service the couple of times I needed it. As far as I'm concerned, there is only one manufacturer - GARMIN.

I have had great service from Garmin. Here's a little trick I found. Call the tech support number that isn't toll free. I get through in 2-3 mins on average.

I have nothing but good things to say about Garmin equipment, software and customer support. No need to buy any other brand.

Garmin GPS
I recently bought a Garmin c510 refurb from Woot. It had a problem with the map software and wouldn't boot up. I expected a hard time from customer service, but I was very pleasantly surprised. After a 1-2 minute wait I was connected with a very delightful rep who solved the problem promptly. The fact that the unit was a refurb never entered into the discussion. I'm sold on Garmin.

I accidently erased software on my 2730 once and a Garmin Tech spent 2 hours on the phone with me getting it straightened out. No charge and it was my boneheaded fault.
