I had a '94 for a while. It served as my touring and 2-up mount, second fiddle to my Aprilia Mille R. I sold both the VFR and Aprilia to buy a V-Strom.

When I bought it:

One month after I bought it:

Now to put the Honda bags on it... I went with blue side bags, and a white top case.

To do list-

1. Win Lottery
2. Buy 25th Anniversary Ed.
3. Powder coat rear wheel blue, front white
4. Quit reading ADVrider bike specific threads, although with #1 that might not be a problem

There is a 25th for sale 50 miles from my dad's house....
Cancel GSA, buy VFR and F800GS? ARRRGGGGHHHHHH!

I know, weird huh? I loved the Mille, but it just didn't fit the role I needed for a bike. For all it's carbon and titanium, for all it's Italian sportbike beauty, for all it's handling on the track...I didn't ride it all that much. The VFR was basically just a pack mule. My Aprilia was a monoposto so I needed something that could carry the GF and/or my luggage on trips.

I put more miles on my V-Strom in the first two months of ownership than I put on the Aprilia or VFR (individually) in the two years prior. It may not be cool, it may not be fast, but my Vee is the most fun bike I've ever owned.

Another Bike!

I just traded my brother a KLX250 for a 1985 VF1000R, this should be interesting!

The first generation VFRs, are what got me interested in bikes. The local Honda shop always had one up on the display stand in the front window. I wiould go in to get bicycle parts, and spend time just staring at it. Then when I had my first bike in the early nineties, I kept looking at the 90 to 93 models. When I decided to get back into riding in 2000, I looked all over for a 93, because I wanted the white. If I had teh money, and room, I'd have one of each limited model, a 2000 in yellow, New generation in asphault, white, and of course the aniversary addition.

Newbie here

I bought mine in '04. It had less than 10K (not even broken really). I've since got it up over 60K. I love this bike. I was a long time BMW rider before I got the viffer. Now I honestly can't imagine having any other bike as my main ride.
