2720 polarity...problem

Okay, I'm thinking I'm fuggo'd. I have a hardwire lead to my 2720. I also have an SAE power lead to the electrified tankbag. I spliced SAE connectors into the lead from the AC adaptor, so that I could use the receiver end to plug the GPS into the tank bag. That polarity was correct-the wall adaptor worked when everything was hooked up.

BUT...

It appears that when I plugged the lead into the hot lead from the battery that the polarity was reversed. Now the GPS won't turn on.

Am I cooked? Is there anything that can be reset, or an internal fuse that I can replace? Or anything? I'm off for a 10 day trip starting next Thursday.

AAAAAA.
