I had my new to me 605 out this weekend for the first time and wow what a fun bike. It just eats up the two track forest service roads.

I'm stuck.

I have had budgetary constraints that have prevented me from DS-ing my 605. No DS means no ridey. Them budgetary restraints = vehicle repairs on the 4-wheeled stuff

Anyone have a spare mounting ring for a Baja Designs 8" race light they wanna trade something for? How bout an extra DS front headlight?

I have the rest of the stuff: rectifier, battery, brake light switch, taillight, etc. (missing a mirror, but I can get one of them anywhere!)

I have a 1996 605 with E start (just got it). I need to give it the once over and check what I can mechanically. Also need a timing belt, the bike still has the original timing belt, its been in storage. I'll have some pics up this weekend. Its really clean and low miles.

Yep, worth every cent! I'm not affiliated with Renazco but have their seats on three of my bikes. By far the best mod to my Husaberg.

I'm not affiliated either, I've just bought a bike (640A) from him. GREAT guy. Him and Creeper both!

HIGHLY recommended based on having sat on another of his/their seats.

Heres my new to me atk. 1996 1240 original miles. The good, the bike is hardly used, the bad, the bike is hardly used. I have a feeling this bike will need a full tear down and inspection with a timing belt replacement. I'll do the belt just for peice of mind. Change all the fluids, clean carb and replace fuel..Lots of work ahead of me. Battery isnt hold a charge either. Im gonna go blow thru the old gas tomorrow with some sea foam in it. I dont have the owners manual yet so I am not sure what everything does on this bike. I have a funky magura peice in the handlebars..I assume its the choke. havent pulled the tank off yet to check the routing. Oh it has the full enduro kit on it, blinkers, horn, speedo mirrors etc. Everything appears in working order. Its got a pretty good punch to it, feels similar to my 640 enduro in terms of power. It sits higher in the fron than my ktm felt and turns in slower. Just have to get used to it and OHH the seat is very hard! I'll need to get an inch or so cut out of the seat and some softer foam put in.

Hey Kapp, before you do ANYTHING else I'd recommend replacing the timing belt. ATK recommends the belt be replaced every year. With the low miles on your bike the chances that your timing belt is brittle and 'out of shape' from having not been spun from the motor running is almost a given. If you were to not replace the belt and have it snap you're likely looking at more $ to replace the broken engine parts than you paid for the bike.

I ordered a Baja Designs headlight/mask... Its in at the moto shop.

Now all I need to do is get everything wired up and working. (oh, and insured!)
