Trent / Alan - Sounds like you guys had a good ride - waiting for some stories to be posted!

Earl - I will pm you once (if) I get insurance on my dirt bike. I might just wait till next year since I start back at work next week - but I will keep you posted if it works out.

I registered my SPOT early this afternoon and wanted to test her out - it worked great! I can track my progress - gotta learn all the tricks!

I went south of Bragg Creek this afternoon and explored some dead ends. I forgot about the Thursday night rides meeting at 6 at MacLean Store (rode by highway 66 at 6:20, then I remembered the 6 PM meeting time - kicked myself - so I just keep going.)

I rode to the end of 66 then took Powderface Road to 68, to the TC, then took Jumping Pound Road back to 22, then TWP 250 back to the TC. Unreal weather! Warm, sun, clouds, about 20 drops of rain.

I didn't see another DS biker but I saw tons of MTB'ers around the trail heads. Everyone was enjoying the weather! (Good thing as it got windy out on the way back and was blowing a hurricane here in NW Calgary tonight! Plus I hear it is going to cool off to 15C for the next few days.)

Might try to get out again this weekend - time permitting.

Only two of us showed up for the Thursday night ride.
Considering neither of us knew the area well we managed a couple of hours of great riding with some interesting hill climbs thrown in.... and not really getting lost!

Beautiful night for riding and my back held up pretty good,tho I'm pretty tender today.
Would have been nice to meet a few more guys but maybe next time.

Kudos for coming in from the Hat area for the Thursday night ride! Sorry I forgot about the ride... and then didn't stop in twenty minutes late to see if people were still around. Did you ride all the way home afterwards?

No I did not go back to the Hat....I sort of have dual citizenship you could say between the Hat and here....the better half works in Calgary.
Don't ride much tho due to a blown disc.
Felt real good to be on the pumpkin but I definitely feel it today

Not much response to my invite for a ride tomorrow. I'll be going out to McLean, will unload in the staging area west of the campgrounds, the ones at the end of the road, by the shitters, goldish gray chevy, orange bike. Will try to be there at 10am, if anyone wants to join me, come on out.

Yeah that's my bike. It has 112 or 114 hours on it. I lowered the price of the 640 to $4800 as well.

Since I was bored and had nothing else on the go I decided to head out to Mclean Creek anyway and see how wet it was.
Lots of water laying around but what the heck.....off I went!!

Two hours of mostly main trail riding but did do some other stuff,surprisingly good traction almost everywhere.
It was only +4 when I unloaded and a balmy +9 when I left,sun must have come out 15 minutes at most.
Had alot of fun but I was'nt really prepared for the cold....
Had an un-expected bonus of coming within 20ft of a black bear cub too,not a km away from the store!

Never saw momma and the little one was'nt sticking around to chat so neither was I!!
All in all am pretty happy I ran out there tho riding alone really is'nt the smartest thing......

sold the 450 EXC to some lucky guy. Well at least now I can go ride the 640 :)

Congrats! I hope it was Dave Baldwin's friend Doug. he phoned me about it about 6 as we were headed through Golden and I told him to jump on it!
