Thought I'd check in here, I live in Okotoks but it's all the same. :P
I have a nice new '09 Suzuki DR650, went from a sport bike to this and would love to take this thing off road.

Here's a lovely picture of my bike.

Right now I may as well have no off road experience with what little I've done on dirt bikes (CRF 150 and 230 both just on a grass field).
I'm hoping to learn.

Welcome friend. Do you ride your exc on single track much? We'll have to get some guys out who have more off road oriented bikes :)

Was at a supermoto track night which takes place on the race city go kart track (mega fun).
Of course I don't have sumo tires or wheels, just the stock trail wings.

Since I haven't a single clue what happened, I'm guessing I ran out of tire (was a low side).
Looking at the tread wear seems to point to this too.

This was my 2nd crash on my bike. I've been told it's the best looking 09 DR650.

Ya, thanks for the ride guys. I really enjoyed the river crossings. I was very impressed that you good get those 2 tonne street bikes with slicks through them

Of course the submarine sounds from my bike were telling me the crossing was too deep for the XR....

Rellik, can you post the video of me crossing, I'd like to see it.

When you say "dual-sport ride", does that include off-road (quad trails & some single track) or is really a gravel road ride?
That looks like a pretty perfect ride to me, those trails look awesome. I'd love to get in on one of those one of these days.

I'm not sure I'd call that a "dual sport" ride though.

We are setting this up as a regular Thur evening ride (http://adsmc.informe.com/forum/event...reek-t745.html)... 6 pm at the McLean Creek store. We may tone things down a notch depending on the rider skill/equipment that shows up. But it is definitely not going to be a "big iron" ride.

Cheers,
Andy

I claim no skill as a video editor, but I did play around with it last night, and this is what I came up with. I apologize in advance for the poor audio, my modular helmet added a soundtrack of it's own!

Earl is my new hero as he overcame the biggest personal hurdles, way to go Earl!

K, so I was lurking in the forum watching what would happen and this looked like fun. Any chance of another ride this Sunday?
