For those that have ridden up to Limestone Mountain, I am wondering if the trip up is OK for a solo rider? I am thinking of doing it on Friday (Sept 21st). If it matters, I am riding a R1200GS and would consider myself an intermediate experienced off road rider.

Thank you!

Conrad
you may tip over on the rock garden if you are unlucky. I always feel so bad seing those nice bikes falling over.

Thumbs down Powderface Trail!

Now logging on parts of it. But don't take your bike off road!

Don't get me started on that...

I might be heading out camping for two nights then meet a local club for a short 4x4 day on Sunday. If that falls through I'll be up for a ride Saturday for sure. Still haven't changed my tire, but it's holding in there =) I'd do it Friday night if I wasn't going camping though.

Thanks for the info... took the ride today but got messed up at the fork in the road... and got lost...

Next time I will get a GPS track to use.

Cheers,

I will try to clean up the map a bit more. The southern 2/3rds of the track, really isn't needed as it is just the forestry trunk road. The only real challenge is navigating through the "rock garden" right at the top, that I waypointed. The views from the top are worth it.
Thanks for the tracks and info for limestone. Made the trip today, no problems except for a few wrong turns since I didn't take the time to upload the .gpx file. Great day! Wasn't up to heading past the gate this time... Maybe next time with better rubber.

Glad you found it. It is a great spot to relax and take in the view. Me, I missed a nice day to ride, as I reassembled my bike after some minor repairs that required major dis-assembly.

She is back together now and tomorrow we ride!!

Interested. I guess it will depend on where and when.

Fairly flexible as long as it's reasonably warm (to ride).

FlossandFly said he'd be down as well provided he can make it.

Well, Some place fairly central, but not downtown. A patio would be nice, in case we get loud, or the place is. Mid to late week?

Your idea, so you set the stage.

I'm thinking Thursday evening @ Starbucks on 17th?

We can all pose it up and drink crappy, overpriced coffee. The bonus is the view is good and there's action to keep us entertained.

Would be nice to get at least a table full of people though?

Another option is the Purple Perk on 4th. Heard it was good??

I like Bumpies, but they have terrible hours for stuff like this.

I'd be wanting to do 7ish. I have to get home, walk and feed the hound then I could get ready and go.

No BMW, but I was reading up on the Husky Terra, problem is I'd buy a used X challenge from the states instead just to qualify for BMW poser cred.

Sadly, there is no perfect bike. Thinking long term and a trip bike though. Maybe a commuter in summer.
