Riding tomorrow...
I'm taking off from Calgary around Noon tomorrow. Plan to ride the backroads up to Water Valley, boot over to the FSR along the Harold Creek Rd and loop back to town. Time permitting I'll head out on some of the quad trails off the FSR as well.
Any takers? Supposed to be a high of +11 tomorrow.... could be the last ride of 2009. Cheers, Andy |

Bummer Andy, still in Cranbrook where it's +2 with a light snow.

Final ride of 2009...
Had a good ride on Friday - mostly clear roads & trails. I did nice 3rd gear low-side on one of the township roads when I gassed it mid corner on what I thought was dry hard pack dirt, ended up being glare ice. No damage to bike or rider, and managed to get it back up out of the ditch before anyone else in the group saw what happened (so if nobody sees you crash, it's almost like it never happened).
The day did end on a off note when one of the DRZs in our group died from a terminal engine failure (ran dry of oil). Had to tow him home from Waiparous. Time for a big-bore kit for him :) That's it for my 2009 riding season. Time to fix all the crap I've either worn out or broken on the Husky and get ready for 2010. It's been a hell of a good year, my best ever for riding. Looking forward to more Thursday night adventures at McLean Creek, weekend trips to Crowsnest, Cypress, Radium, etc.. next season. |
