Thursday June 24th
Thursday June 24th, tomorrow! Just on the off chance any other Calgarians are booking out of town early? Myself ( on a KLR) and a friend with a GS 650 are heading for highway 3 around 2 p.m. Destination Castlegar,B.C. and as much of the KVR as we can get away with (FSR where we can't) Friday, Saturday, and and Sunday playing around that area (and camping). Monday to get back home. Ride report to follow.

Breakfast Club
Folks, there has been quite a bit of interest in a Friday day ride. For those of us that cannot make the Thursday night rides to Mclean or Waiparous here is the alternative; hence the start of the "Breakfast Club". For the last few weeks we have been meeting at either the South Ghost or the Trans Alta at around 10am and riding till 230ish. Most of these rides have been on WR's, DR's, XR's, EXC's and the like. The terrain varies depending on attendance and skill level.
For those that want to join but live in the South we are open to IG or Porkies too. Please feel free to post who wants to ride and where and hopefully like the Thursday night rides we can coordinate a weekly event. Obviously we are going into the summer holiday season so not every ride will happen but atleast its a good place to start and meet some other like minded folks. PS, if Joey shows up on his quad don't be surprised as I've never seen anyone able to loose him yet! Tyler.

"Breakfast Club"
So I went out for the "Breakfest Club" ride, it was sunny the trails were beuatiful and......... I was the only one there. It was a good day though and met a few guys to ride with.
I was a one km past the gravel pit coming over the top of a small hill on a corner and almost went head first into a black bear. The scary part wasn't that it was a bear it was his refusal to move out of the middle of the road and how comfortable he was just looking at me 20 feet away. I idled for a minute then decided it was best if I turned around at which point my bike stalled and I crapped my pants. I kicked her over in a fury of panic and on the first kick it took off thank god. Hopefully see some more bodies next Friday. Cheers

A little off topic for adventure riding...
Anyone checking out the races at Race City this weekend? A friend and his crew from Van. are racing so I'm going to be there for some of it anyway to support them, apparently the crowds haven't been to good for racing the past year or 2...

July 1 and/or July 4
The new GF now has the weekend off so no 4 day ride. Anyone want to join me for a rides on July 1 and on July 4.
AlbertaBob has offered to show us around Pincher Creek if we head down there, we can meet him half way, ride his area and do a loop back to Cowtown. The other rides I'd like to do are: 1) Invermere and play around on Settlers Rd and the mountains then home 2) Head up Trunk past Mountain Aire and do a loop back. I did a solo up there a few weeks ago and had a great ride. PM if interested in a ride July 1 or July 4 Braaaaap, Braaaaap
