They must be putting something in the upper cali water supply, you're finishing up a project frighteningly similar to the one I'm just beginning to collect parts for. I have an XL600R rolling chassis that wants a nice, dependable, multi cylinder possibly shaftdrive powertrain. I love your project and urge you to get off your lazy ass and finish it (just kidding, sometimes projects become second jobs no matter how cool they are. Pace yourself.) Hopefully I'll see your Bandito in person one day. Jay

Thanks, Jay. I wrench for a living too and sometimes the last thing I want to do is come home and work more. Honestly it's down to me finishing the thing as I have all of the parts I need at this point. I may need to firm up the spring rates once I ride it.

I've been gathering parts for the next project too..RZ350 powered bobber. That'll be a few years in finishing.

I'll be working hard to finish this Bandit up because I have a Willys to finish up as soon as this bike is done.

I'm scheduled for something like 24 days in Death Valley during November and December. If I mention DV one more time around here my wife is gonna kill me.

Benjava snapped a pic as I showed him the fit with the new bar risers.

I've got this huge stack of old inner tubes that have been holed and left here, so I've been patching them. I might have missed a few holes, since the tubes I used to mount up some mock-up tires both leak.

There are two bikes that don't run in my garage and they both say Suzuki on the engine case.

I keep trying to borrow a cherry picker from a buddy, but we can't seem to meet up. So, I threw it on the ground and put the swingarm and shock on.

Back on two wheels.

I might have to change a few things to get the seat height down, I can just get the balls of my feet on the ground.

Ok, so I've been trying to use part of the CR500 subframe to give me easy mounting points for the seat/fender/side plates. It's pure laziness and it's fouling up the seating position. I've got a Corbin that's going on it now, so the benefit of the CR parts is half gone as I have to fab new seat mounts.

I can't touch the ground very well with the white section on there.

So I ripped it off and threw it on the ground.

I'll have to slice up the fender to get it to look right.

It's looking better already.

I can flat foot it now, but the rear spring feels too soft..probably going to have to re-spring this thing when it's done.

Until the next episode...
