Duke! Where's the upgraded Stalker Van pics???




While you are out there taking pics... I seem to recall you mentioning your hitch-bike-carrier had been re-enforced to make it more 950 friendly.. do you have any pics of the re-enforcement?

Anyone have experience with camper vans like this one? The missus wants something similar, but I'm worried about being able to stand up fully inside. I'm 6'2"...any help?

Don't even get me started. I left the van with the shop on Tuesday to get the lift put on and the front end aligned; it still isn't finished, and the alignment (and wheel bearings since they noticed they were bad) probably won't happen until next week. I will be surprised if I get it back before sometime middle of next week, maybe. At least I'm trying to brace myself for that so I don't murder anyone tomorrow.

Word of advice: if you ever break down in Salida, GET A TOW TO DENVER OR COLORADO SPRINGS! Do not expect competence at any of the auto repair shops around here.

It's a class 4 hitch, and the carrier is one Ned made specifically for his 950 (and I got it with the van. ) It's very heavy duty.

I was looking at one myself the other day, it was advertised as a 6'4" clearance and I'm exactly 6'4".
When I got inside the top of my hair just scrapped the roof in a slouchy kind of posture.

I think it's dependent upon the style of top used by the manufacturer. I spent a couple years looking for a van until I came across this one. It's a one ton with a high cap. I'm 6'4", and can stand in the forward section without my head hitting the ceiling.



On another note, just upgraded the electrical, plumbing, and changed the lino. First trip in a couple weeks!

If there's one thing that sucks about Salida its getting things like bike or car parts... 100 miles to a town that's bigger and has "everything", so you end up waiting and waiting. That and I haven't found an auto repair shop that I've been happy with yet. I always feel like I could have done a better job; but damn I hate working on cars.
