Putting in ring & pinion gears isn't just a matter of unbolting the old & bolting up the new ones. There's shim washers involved, good chance you'll need a housing spreader, a bearing press dial indicator etc. You have to set the backlash just right. That could mean numerous install, bolt, check, unbolt, pull it out, redo.
You might be able to find the procedure on Youtube to give you an idea on what's involved.

No sir. It's all pretty slow moving stuff!! Usually they aren't loaded to the gills like that either. That was a particularly good day.

First test drive today.

Ben still has a lot of small projects to complete but this is a good sign.

Top Gear on History previews for tonight's show feature a Mini-van challenge through the Rockies. Could be pretty entertaining.

I saw a van with a diamond shaped bubble window this morning and thought of you Duke.

I was mildly concerned that it was parked next to the elementary school but it didn't have "Free Candy" painted on the side or anything so I figured it was ok......

i kind of thought it might be a PS but wasn't sure. Good thing it is because I'd guess there would be a lot of head smashing odd angles in that thing..
